Many women use ovulation test strips to detect ovulation. When the ovulation test strip shows a strong positive, it is the time of ovulation. However, some women find that the ovulation test strip always shows a weak positive. So what is the reason behind this? 1. What is the reason for the ovulation test paper to always show a weak positive result? Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Normal women maintain a small amount of luteinizing hormone (LH) in their bodies. The secretion of LH increases rapidly in the middle of the menstrual cycle, forming an LH peak, and then stimulates the release of a mature egg, i.e. ovulation, within the next 28 hours. Within 24 to 48 hours before a woman ovulates, the luteinizing hormone (LH) in her urine will reach a peak level, and the result of self-testing with an ovulation test strip will be positive. Some women always show weak positive results when using ovulation test strips. What is going on? A weak positive result on the ovulation test paper means that a woman always gets a weak positive result when using the ovulation test paper during her ovulation period, and no strong positive result is seen. There is a layer of chemical on the ovulation test paper. The amount of chemical applied on each brand of test paper is certain. When the LH in the woman's urine on the ovulation day is less than the amount applied on the test paper, no strong positive result will be detected. The doctor can say that usually in this case it is not because the woman has a physical problem, but that the test strip is not suitable for her, so there is no need to worry too much. If you find that the test paper is always weakly positive, you can use the Mami Pregnancy Tester to test ovulation. As long as ovulation is normal, the ovulation day can be detected. 2. If the ovulation test paper is always weak positive, does it mean that you are pregnant? A weak positive result on the ovulation test paper does not necessarily mean that you are pregnant. The doctor said that because HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) has two chains, α and β, the ovulation test strip mainly measures LH (luteinizing hormone), and the structure of the α chain is basically similar to LH, which is prone to cross-reaction. Therefore, in medicine, β is generally used as the standard to determine whether a woman is pregnant. Because HCG and LH cross over, sometimes LH test strips also react to early pregnancy. Today's early pregnancy test strips basically test βHCG, and the β content in HCG is much lower than α. When βHCG is only 50-100, αHCG has often reached around one or two thousand. The early pregnancy test is determined by βHCG, and the cross reaction is determined by αHCG. Therefore, the ovulation test paper will show a positive result earlier than the pregnancy test paper. This only explains why ovulation test strips can detect early pregnancy, but it does not mean pregnancy as long as the ovulation test strips test a weak positive (except during the ovulation period). A normal person ovulates once a month, and the LH peak only occurs once before ovulation each month. Apart from this, LH generally remains stable at a low level without much change during the rest of the month. So normally, LH should not be detected to be elevated more than ten days after ovulation. However, some people's LH levels are always high, and after ovulation, there is always a weak positive LH level. Some people sometimes have abnormal LH fluctuations when their menstruation is about to come. Therefore, if you judge pregnancy based on only a weak positive result on the ovulation test paper, you may make a wrong judgment. 3. How long does it take for ovulation to occur after a weak positive ovulation test paper Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Normal women maintain a small amount of luteinizing hormone (LH) in their bodies. The secretion of LH increases rapidly in the middle of the menstrual cycle, forming an LH peak, and then stimulates the release of a mature egg, i.e. ovulation, within the next 28 hours. Generally, women with regular menstruation ovulate around the 14th day before the next menstruation. The first four days and the last five days are all within the ovulation period. If the test result of early pregnancy test paper is weakly positive, it means that you are within the ovulation period, which usually lasts for 10 days. The doctor said that starting from the twelfth day of this menstrual period (counting from the first day), you should start using ovulation test strips and morning urine to monitor ovulation according to the instructions. If it shows a weak positive, continue testing on the second day until it is strongly positive, which means ovulation will occur within 48 hours (usually within 24 hours). If the test shows a negative result the next day, it means ovulation has already occurred. It is easiest to get pregnant during sexual intercourse when the test paper turns from strongly positive to negative. You can also use ovulation test strips combined with B-ultrasound to monitor ovulation, which is the most accurate. |
