How to stimulate ovulation most effectively

How to stimulate ovulation most effectively

Some women may not ovulate due to certain factors, so if they want to get pregnant, they will use some ovulation-inducing drugs, such as clomiphene or aromatase inhibitors, which are ovulation-inducing drugs.

1. Clomiphene

Clomiphene is an anti-estrogen drug that induces the hypothalamus to produce gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone to promote the development of multiple follicles.

2. Aromatase inhibitors

It is suitable for postmenopausal advanced breast cancer and is mostly used as a second-line treatment after failure of anti-estrogen therapy.

3. Insulin sensitizers

In the treatment of obese PCOS and non-obese PCOS with insulin resistance, the use of insulin sensitizers may be considered to promote the recovery of ovulation function.

Side effects of ovulation-stimulating drugs

Ovulation-stimulating drugs are indeed effective for infertile people, and it is recommended to use them under the guidance of a doctor. What are the side effects of ovulation-inducing drugs? The side effects of ovulation-inducing drugs mainly include the following points.

1. Irregular use of ovulation-inducing drugs can lead to abnormal ovulation in women of childbearing age, and multiple pregnancy itself is a high-risk pregnancy, which can increase the miscarriage rate of pregnant women by 10% and the premature birth rate by 20% compared to normal pregnancy. The fetal mortality rate is as high as 135‰, and it is very easy to cause complications such as premature rupture of membranes, pregnancy-induced hypertension, anemia, and heavy bleeding during delivery. The proportion of intellectual development retardation and deformities in children of multiple births is also very high.

2. Taking ovulation-stimulating drugs privately may cause ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, in which a large number of ovulations over-stimulate the ovarian endocrine system. Ovulation-stimulating drugs can increase the permeability of blood vessels throughout the body, allowing water to penetrate outside the blood vessels, leading to highly concentrated blood and vascular embolism, and the person taking the drugs may die.
