4 symptoms of adnexitis to watch out for

Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the ovaries and fallopian tubes and is also a common gynecological disease. Adnexitis belongs to pelvic inflammatory disease, so the symptoms of adnexitis are somewhat similar to those of pelvic inflammatory disease. In the early stages of adnexitis, symptoms such as abdominal pain and fever may also occur.

1. Fever

When the disease occurs, female friends will have a high fever of 38-39.8℃ and symptoms such as chills and shivering. Then the body temperature will show some remittent fever, like some inflammations are isolated due to adhesion, and then the body temperature of female patients will drop rapidly.

2. Abdominal pain

Female friends may experience local abdominal pain, which is mostly bilateral, and a few may experience vomiting. The pain is different from that of appendicitis and will be aggravated by bowel movements. Sometimes urinary pain may occur, often during constipation or bloating. This is the result of irritation of the colon wall due to inflammation. So this is one of the symptoms of adnexitis.

3. Irregular menstruation

Frequent menstruation or excessive menstrual flow is very common among female friends, which may be the result of pelvic congestion and ovarian dysfunction. Chronic inflammation can cause uterine fibrosis, incomplete recovery or adhesion, resulting in abnormal position of the uterus, which can lead to excessive menstrual flow in women. It is recommended that you go to a regular large hospital for examination as soon as possible if the above situation occurs.

4. Pain

During gynecological examination, there is obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the adnexal area. Routine blood tests can show an increase in white blood cell count and a significantly increased neutrophil ratio. Symptoms of adnexitis: If acute adnexitis is not treated promptly or thoroughly, it may turn into chronic adnexitis.
