Pay attention to these symptoms, it may be cervical polyps

Cervical polyps have become a common type of chronic cervicitis among women. The incidence rate has remained high in recent years, which is very harmful to women's health. If not treated in time, it may also lead to female infertility. Therefore, you must understand the symptoms of cervical polyps and receive treatment in time.

What are the symptoms of cervical polyps?

1. Vaginal bleeding

Some patients with cervical polyps will experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding, but many female patients mistakenly believe that it is caused by irregular menstruation, so they don't care. It is recommended that you pay more attention to your personal condition and not miss the best treatment time.

2. Increased leucorrhea and blood streaks

Because of cervical polyps, inflammation may frequently stimulate the cervix, which may cause increased vaginal discharge or blood in the vaginal discharge.

3. Lumbar pain

Patients with cervical polyps may experience symptoms such as lumbar pain, pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea during menstruation. If the inflammation spreads to the cardinal ligament, symptoms of painful intercourse may also occur.

What causes cervical polyps?

1. Inflammatory infection causes cervical polyps

It is usually caused by childbirth, miscarriage, postpartum infection, surgical operation or mechanical stimulation, sexual intercourse that damages the cervix, and the invasion of pathogens that cause infection.

2. Chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation induce cervical polyps. Long-term inflammatory stimulation causes excessive proliferation of the cervical mucosa. In addition, the uterus has a tendency to expel foreign bodies, causing the proliferating mucosa to gradually protrude from the base to the external os of the cervix to form polyps.

The dangers of cervical polyps:

1. It will cause bleeding during sexual intercourse or bloody leucorrhea, affecting the quality of sexual life.

2. If cervical polyps are not treated, they will gradually grow larger and block the cervical opening. Or if the polyp happens to block the cervical opening, it can cause the cervical opening to narrow or the cervical canal to deform, thereby hindering the normal upward movement of sperm and causing infertility.

3. Cervical polyps may also become cancerous. For those over 45 years old, especially those who suffer from cervical polyps before and after menopause, the polyps should be sent for pathological examination after surgical removal. If there are signs of malignancy, treatment measures should be taken as soon as possible. Even if the polyps are removed, they will still recur as long as the inflammation exists.

4. Cervical polyps are often related to chronic cervical inflammation. If only the polyps are removed, the chronic inflammation of the cervix is not eliminated, and the pathogens are still lurking in the cervical tissue, so recurrence is still possible. Therefore, after treating cervical polyps, chronic cervical inflammation should also be treated to prevent recurrence of polyps.
