A woman's "little hole" suddenly bleeds, which must be a sign of a serious illness.

Some women find that their "good friend" comes to them again not long after their menstrual period. At this time, women will be very worried about what is wrong. Non-menstrual vaginal bleeding may be a warning of disease. Women should learn to observe the time, duration, amount, color of bleeding, and whether there are other accompanying symptoms, so as to understand whether their bleeding will be a signal of disease that seriously affects their health.

Four things to know about non-menstrual bleeding

1. The time when bleeding occurs is crucial. Occasional bleeding during ovulation is generally not a big problem. Pay attention to see if it occurs for several consecutive months.

2. If bleeding occurs after ovulation and is accompanied by mild pain in the lower abdomen, you should go for a gynecological examination to determine whether you have ovarian endocrine disorders or other diseases.

3. If there is no regularity in the bleeding time, it is quite serious and you must go to the hospital to check whether it is endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal development of cervical cells, or even cervical cancer.

4. In case of heavy bleeding, the patient must be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment in time. What is most likely to delay treatment is a small amount of bleeding that continues to occur. This is often not taken seriously, and coupled with the embarrassment of seeking medical treatment, it will delay the early diagnosis of the disease.

Bleeding due to contraceptive measures

Oral contraceptives may cause irregular bleeding during non-menstrual periods, spotting, breakthrough bleeding of larger amounts, and withdrawal bleeding between doses. This is due to missed birth control pills, late dosing (irregular dosing), incorrect medication methods, poor quality of pills, or different personal physical conditions, which lead to an imbalance in hormone levels in the body after taking the pills, which is insufficient to maintain the integrity of the normal growth of the endometrium and causes it to fall off and bleed.

Intrauterine device (IUD) As a contraceptive measure, intrauterine device is safe, economical, efficient, convenient, and can be used for a long time, and is very popular among women. However, one of its common complications is uterine bleeding. In addition to possibly causing early menstruation, prolonged menstruation, and increased menstrual flow, irregular bleeding between two normal menstrual periods may also occur. This is because the IUD acts as a foreign body in the uterine cavity, mechanically stimulating the endometrium, causing local damage or even superficial ulcers. At the same time, the IUD increases the activity of plasminogen in the uterus, promotes fibrinolysis, and affects the coagulation mechanism of endometrial blood vessels.

Some women also experience vaginal bleeding after unprotected sex because they take emergency contraceptive pills. The impact of emergency contraceptive pills on menstruation is mainly manifested in changes in the menstrual cycle, which may be early or delayed. Especially for repeated users, it can cause menstrual disorders, bleeding, and continuous spotting. Therefore, it can only be used as a remedial measure and cannot replace normal contraceptive methods. It should also be noted here that some women may also have their menstruation affected due to the abuse of "health products" and "breast enhancement medicines and creams" containing hormones.
