What are the dangers of menopausal syndrome

People are actually not aware of the harm of menopausal syndrome to the human body, so even if they suffer from menopausal syndrome, they don’t care too much. However, there are some different changes in their bodies, especially their breasts begin to shrink, and even feel a little sagging. This is a fatal blow to female friends. Many female friends will feel particularly inferior after discovering this situation, and thus they will feel reluctant to go out.

Reproductive system

1. Degeneration of sexual characteristics and atrophy of genitals: dry vulva, loss of pubic hair, white lesions, vulva itching, secondary infection, sexual dysfunction, bladder, rectal prolapse, uterine prolapse, etc. Some women develop masculinization symptoms such as hirsutism, seborrheic dermatitis, and acne.

2. Breast atrophy, sagging, and hypopigmentation of the nipple and areola: the breast firmness decreases and the tissue becomes soft and sagging.

3. Skin and mucous membranes: dry, wrinkled, hair loss, pigmentation and age spots, prone to skin diseases, dry mouth, pharyngitis and hoarseness.

4. Cardiovascular system: including hypertension, arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. The incidence of embolic diseases increases with age after menopause. The incidence of coronary heart disease in women aged ≤55 years is 5 to 8 times lower than that in men of the same age.

Mental, nervous system

Menopausal women are prone to depression, forgetfulness, obsessive-compulsive ideas, paranoia, emotional inversion, emotional instability, persecution delusions, anxiety, suspicion, abnormal sensations, sense of incompetence and world-weariness, and some even develop mania, disordered thinking and schizophrenia.

Endocrine and metabolic changes

1. Hyperlipidemia: It is manifested by increased cholesterol, LDL, TG, and VLDL, while decreased HDL and HDL2, which can easily lead to atherosclerosis and hypertension.

(ii) Diabetes tendency: caused by decreased insulin secretion by β cells and increased insulin resistance in peripheral tissues.

(III) Edema: It may be myxedema caused by hypothyroidism, angioneurotic edema, or edema caused by hypoproteinemia and malnutrition.

(IV) Impaired immune function: prone to complications of infection and tumors.

The harm of menopausal syndrome is not just that, it may even cause some diseases inside the body, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, which are the two diseases that menopausal women are most likely to suffer from. This is mainly caused by excessive cholesterol in the body, so people should adopt low-calorie and low-fat foods in their daily eating habits.
