What causes oophoritis?

Oophoritis is also a pelvic inflammatory problem. Many women may be affected and harmed by oophoritis in their lives due to various reasons. It should be treated scientifically. Common methods include drug treatment. If the condition is serious, surgical treatment is required.

1. Ovarian inflammation is a type of female pelvic inflammatory disease. It is due to infection that leads to ovarian inflammation, resulting in serious sequelae such as ovarian adhesion, fallopian tube encapsulation, abscess and obstruction, causing infertility. Generally speaking, nonspecific oophoritis is divided into acute and chronic types.

2. Drug treatment: Antibiotic treatment is performed in the acute phase. If the puncture fluid or pus is cultured and drug-sensitive, the use of antibiotics will be more effective. The same drugs used to treat acute oophoritis can be used to treat chronic oophoritis. The basis for using antibiotics is that there may still be a small amount of pathogenic bacteria remaining in the ovaries of patients with such chronic diseases. Antibiotics can kill them and prevent recurrence. While using antibiotics, adrenal cortical hormones can be added. After a period of treatment, the symptoms of some patients can be significantly alleviated or even disappear, but this does not mean that the patients have been cured. Follow-up examinations are still needed for these patients.

3. Surgical treatment: For chronic patients with fallopian tube pyosalpingitis or fallopian tube-ovarian pyosalpingitis, surgical treatment is recommended because they are prone to acute attacks. If there are periovarian adhesions or ovarian tubal encapsulation, laparotomy or laparoscopic adhesiolysis may be considered. If there is an ovarian abscess or an ovarian fallopian tube abscess and antibiotic treatment is ineffective, surgical treatment can be considered to remove the affected side appendages and retain the healthy side appendages to preserve fertility. In short, surgical treatment should be performed to preserve and establish fertility function.
