How to treat menstrual disorders caused by obesity

Irregular menstruation in women is also called menstrual disorder and is a common gynecological disease. After contracting the disease, the menstrual cycle may be advanced, or the menstrual volume may be heavy, and there may be abdominal pain during menstruation, which may also lead to a series of systemic symptoms. There are many reasons that can cause irregular menstruation in women, such as some blood diseases, endocrine disorders, or certain gynecological diseases. Of course, obesity may also cause menstrual irregularities in women.

Obese people have more fat in their bodies. There is a substance in fat that can be converted into estrogen. The more fat there is, the more estrogen is converted. After a person gains weight, the estrogen level cannot drop to a low point because of the converted estrogen, resulting in a decrease in the secretion of gonadotropin, and the follicles do not develop well. This in turn affects the synthesis of estrogen by the follicles, which cannot reach the peak value, thus affecting ovulation. If ovulation fails, menstruation will also be abnormal.

Obesity is caused by consuming more calories than the body consumes. Long-term obesity in women will result in endocrine and metabolic disorders, leading to menstrual disorders, infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea, and functional uterine bleeding. In clinical medicine, it is often found that the histological changes in the ovaries of obese patients are very similar to polycystic ovary syndrome. When the weight is lost, menstruation resumes and ovarian changes disappear. Contemporary medicine has confirmed that obesity can cause menstrual irregularities.

If a woman has irregular menstruation, she should try to avoid taking a bath or swimming during her menstrual period, avoid getting caught in the rain, and it is best to exercise restraint during sexual intercourse. Do not eat raw or cold food during menstruation, such as cold dishes, watermelon, and coconut juice. During menstruation, you should also be careful not to exercise too vigorously and do not lift heavy objects violently.
