How to treat uterine septate?

Have you ever heard of a septate uterus? This is a disease that occurs in female friends. In the female body, the two sides of the mesonephric ducts have completely fused together. Although the uterus is normal in appearance, different degrees of mediastinum have appeared. Mediastinal uterus can occur in every stage of female life. So how to treat mediastinal uterus? Take a look at the following stages of treatment to help you cure the disease in a targeted manner.

1. Management during pregnancy:

The rates of miscarriage and premature birth in uterine septate pregnancy are high, so monitoring should be strengthened and cervical insufficiency should be strictly observed. If there is painless cervical flattening or dilation, cervical cerclage should be performed. Check the placenta attachment site during pregnancy and detect placenta previa early.

2. Delivery period:

A uterus with septate uterus can give birth vaginally. If there is secondary uterine weakness and prolonged second stage of labor, a vaginal examination should be performed to determine whether there is a vaginal septum or a uterine septum reaching the external os, which hinders the progress of labor and delivery. When the delivery mode or fetal position is abnormal, the mode of delivery is determined according to the pregnant woman's age, parity, pelvis and fetal size. However, for older primiparas, those with a history of adverse pregnancy, or those with malpositioned fetuses, the guidelines for cesarean section may be relaxed as appropriate. After laparotomy, if a longitudinal depression is found in the uterine body, it is best to make a longitudinal incision in the lower segment of the uterus and remove the mediastinum at the same time.

3. Outcome of pregnancy with mediastinal uterus:

The full-term pregnancy and live birth rates are low. Close monitoring during pregnancy does not improve fetal survival. Traditional orthopedic surgery involves wedge-shaped resection of the mediastinum through the uterine fundus. Abdominal surgery may cause perioperative diseases and postoperative pelvic adhesions, which may cause secondary infertility and postoperative pregnancy requiring cesarean section.

The harm of uterine septate is very serious. Once you are suffering from this disease, if it cannot be completely cured, it will also induce other complications, such as infertility, uterine disease, various gynecological inflammations, etc. Understanding the treatment methods of uterine septate disease can help you deal with the disease at every stage and allow female friends to maintain a healthy body.
