What to do about polycystic ovary syndrome

What to do about polycystic ovary syndrome

I believe many people have experienced this. After having an abortion, their sweat glands become more developed. After going to the hospital for a check-up, I found out that I had polycystic ovarian cysts. The high level of male hormones in my blood was the reason for the sudden growth of hair. People who always think they are healthy may feel the fear of illness. So, what is polycystic ovary syndrome? Let’s find out below.

When there are problems with hormone levels and ovulation, the ovaries can become diseased. Common ovarian diseases include: ovarian failure, ovarian inflammation, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, benign ovarian tumors and ovarian cancer.

Polycystic ovary is not a disease

Strictly speaking, polycystic ovarian cysts are not a disease but a syndrome. The powerful function of the ovaries begins to gradually emerge after puberty.

A woman's big breasts, slim waist and plump buttocks are all related to the estrogen secreted by the ovaries. In addition, the ovaries are responsible for releasing an egg every month. This "unknown" organ located on the left and right sides of the uterus is related to our all-round health.

What is an ovarian cyst

Experts say that "ovarian cyst" refers to a lump that forms inside or on the surface of the ovary. The material inside a lump is usually liquid, but sometimes it can be solid, or a mixture of liquid and solid. Ovarian cysts are usually small, about the size of a pea or cashew nut, but some cysts can be as big as a softball or even larger.

Of course, larger cysts should be taken seriously, because our ovaries themselves are only the size of a walnut.

The following symptoms may indicate an ovarian cyst:

1. Dysmenorrhea: Those who did not have dysmenorrhea before begin to have dysmenorrhea or the dysmenorrhea continues to worsen.

2. Menstrual disorders: The previously regular menstruation becomes completely irregular, often making you panic.

3. Infertility: Ovarian cysts are one of the causes of infertility. This has no direct relationship with the size of the cyst, and the reason remains to be determined.

Ovarian cysts are a very common phenomenon. Most cysts are caused by changes in the normal function of the ovaries, so the vast majority of ovarian cysts are benign. But if the cyst becomes malignant, it becomes ovarian cancer.

A survey report conducted in the United States in the early 21st century pointed out that ovarian cancer has the highest mortality rate among all gynecological tumors. WHY? Is ovarian cancer really a terrible and stubborn disease? No, the lack of knowledge about ovarian health is the reason for the high mortality rate.

Gynecological experts introduced that traditional Chinese medicine classifies ovarian cysts as "癓瘕", and believes that the occurrence of ovarian cysts is mostly caused by damage from the seven emotions, excessive sexual intercourse, or the invasion of the six external evils during menstruation and postpartum period, which leads to qi blockage, organ disharmony, and imbalance of yin and yang.

Therefore, during treatment, a comprehensive and integrated analysis of the overall cause of the disease must be conducted and a reasonable prescription composition must be formulated to truly resolve the disease.

Experts remind female friends that ovarian cysts are preventable and that they should undergo regular gynecological examinations for early detection, diagnosis and treatment. If ovarian abnormalities are found but cannot be confirmed, regular follow-up is required. At the same time, check whether the contralateral ovary is normal. Combined with the patient's age and whether the reproductive function is retained, conservative treatment with traditional Chinese medicine is generally used.

In addition, women during menstruation and after childbirth should pay special attention to health care, strictly refrain from sexual intercourse, keep the vulva and vagina clean, keep a happy and stable mood, try to reduce various competitive pressures in life, avoid worrying and getting angry, learn to self-regulate, pay attention to keeping warm, avoid catching cold, wading in the rain, or taking cold water showers, swimming, etc. Maintain a balance between work and rest, and eat nutritious, light and easily digestible food.
