The difference between painless abortion and curettage

The difference between painless abortion and curettage

The surgical process of painless abortion and surgical abortion is basically the same, except that anesthetics are introduced during the process of miscarriage. Therefore, the pregnant woman does not feel pain during miscarriage and the operation can be completed in just ten minutes of sleep. If during the process of miscarriage, the miscarriage material is not discharged in time and accumulates in the uterine cavity, the residual tissue in the uterus can be removed by curettage. Curettage is a supplement for incomplete miscarriage. If there is residual tissue in the uterine cavity after abortion, it is easy to cause prolonged bleeding time, anemia, infection, and the uterus is not easy to recover as soon as possible.

The only difference between painless abortion and uterine curettage is that in the case of painless abortion, anesthesia is given with the help of anesthesiologist, and the patient can have the operation during sleep. The patient has no memory of the operation process, so there is no feeling of pain. After waking up, some people will have mild lower abdominal pain, but most people do not feel it.

When doing a curettage, no anesthesia is required. The patient is relatively conscious during the whole process, so there will be obvious lower abdominal pain. Some people who are sensitive to pain cannot bear it. However, the time of surgery, the process of surgery, the equipment used in surgery, the postoperative complications, and the effects on the human body are all the same. There is no difference.

The difference between painless uterine curettage and general uterine curettage is that painless uterine curettage is performed under intravenous anesthesia. Regardless of whether it is a normal birth, a caesarean section, or an abortion, if there is an embryo or fetal membrane remaining in the uterine cavity, a curettage is required. The curettage is not very painful and most women can tolerate it. If the patient really cannot bear or is very afraid of surgery, a painless uterine curettage can be performed. The anesthesia used in painless uterine curettage surgery is intravenous anesthesia, and the entire surgical process is performed under good sleep.
