Emergency contraception is a temporary measure used after sexual intercourse. It only protects against the first unprotected sexual intercourse in this cycle, and regular contraceptive methods should be used thereafter. Emergency contraceptive pills have no contraceptive effect on sexual intercourse after taking the pills, and it is useless to take emergency contraceptive pills after having had multiple sexual intercourses. Moreover, it cannot be used repeatedly within a year, otherwise it may cause menstrual disorders.
