What is the cause of cervical cyst?

Women are likely to have a cyst at the cervix, which is a type of gynecological disease. It usually causes abnormal leucorrhea in women, sometimes irregular menstruation, and can easily induce other gynecological inflammations. It is best to identify the cause and treat it in time. Let us now understand some specific causes of cervical cysts.

1. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main cause of leucorrhea is the disturbance of the belt meridian caused by liver depression, damp heat, spleen deficiency, etc.

2. Western medicine believes that due to the infection of various pathogens in the cervix, inflammatory reactions and changes occur. During the process of inflammation healing and repair, the secretions in the cervical glands are blocked by excessive proliferation of new squamous epithelium, forming cystic tumors.

Clinical manifestations

Cervical glandular cysts appear as multiple small yellow-white vesicles that protrude from the surface of the cervix and contain colorless jelly-like substances. If accompanied by infection, the vesicles are mostly white or yellow in appearance. The mucus it contains is often clear but may be turbid and purulent due to concurrent infection. The cysts are usually small and scattered and may protrude from the surface of the cervix. Some cervical cysts can grow very large, protruding from the surface of the cervix and even reaching the vaginal opening. The root is connected to the cervix by a pedicle and is often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy. During the examination, you can see multiple yellow-white vesicles of varying sizes protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus, some as big as rice grains and some as big as corn kernels.

Cervical cyst is a kind of chronic lesion of cervicitis. Most of them have no obvious symptoms. The main manifestation of cervicitis is increased vaginal discharge. Due to different pathogens, the color, amount, and properties of vaginal discharge are also different. Leucorrhea may be sticky and purulent, and in some cases may contain streaks of blood or a small amount of blood. In very rare cases, there may also be contact bleeding. If accompanied by pelvic inflammatory disease, lower abdominal or lumbar pain, or dysmenorrhea may occur.

Therefore, if female friends feel back pain or lower abdominal pain for a long time, and also find abnormal leucorrhea, it is best to go to the hospital for examination in time. Once cervical cyst is found, it should be treated in time with some more effective methods to minimize some adverse effects on the female body.
