What is chronic cervical hypertrophy?

Human beings are an organic whole. There are times when we are healthy and times when we are sick. Especially women, whose immunity is slightly lower than men, are prone to various gynecological diseases. The uterus is a female-specific organ and the place where new life is conceived. But the uterus is a place that is easily infected by various diseases, cervical hypertrophy is one of them. Today I will introduce this disease to you.

Uterine hypertrophy refers to a disease in which the uterus is uniformly enlarged, the muscle layer thickness exceeds 2.5 cm, and is accompanied by varying degrees of uterine bleeding. The surface of the enlarged cervix may also experience erosion due to injury or inflammatory stimulation, such as shedding of squamous epithelium and hyperplasia of columnar epithelium. After the inflammation is treated, the local congestion and edema of the cervix subsides, and the surface of the cervix is covered with squamous epithelium again and returns to its smooth state. However, the proliferating connective tissue does not subside, and sometimes even increases by more than 2 times.

Many postpartum women have heavy menstruation and a uniformly enlarged uterus. The endometrium is normal or thickened, and some are polyp-like. However, most pathological examinations are normal, and a few show hyperplasia. In this case, it can be diagnosed as uterine hypertrophy. Care should be taken to differentiate it from uterine fibroids, especially when the myonucleus is a single intramural or submucosal one. When the uterine body is uniformly enlarged, it is often difficult to differentiate it from uterine hypertrophy. Diagnostic curettage, exploration of the uterine cavity and B-ultrasound examination can assist in the diagnosis. However, there are still a few cases where the diagnosis can only be confirmed during laparotomy.

Cervical hypertrophy is mainly due to inflammatory changes and is a type of chronic cervicitis. Severe hypertrophy may be 1-2 times larger than a normal cervix. Cervical hypertrophy is a type of chronic cervicitis. Due to infection of the cervix by pathogens

The inflammatory changes caused by the mucosa and the pathogens that cause cervical hypertrophy include mycoplasma, chlamydia, bacteria, and viruses. The consequences of cervical hypertrophy are serious, and some of them are caused by ascending infection of vaginitis leading to local lesions.

There are many vulnerable times in women's lives. The monthly menstruation causes women's immunity to be at a low level due to blood loss. When a woman is pregnant, she will feel various discomforts because she is carrying a new life. Therefore, in normal times, women should take good care of themselves, develop good living habits, and have a healthy body.
