Several misunderstandings to pay attention to in the treatment of polycystic ovary

Women's physical health also needs to be well maintained, especially their diet. They should be careful not to make random choices. They should try to choose less raw, cold, and spicy foods. Among common female diseases, polycystic ovary disease is very harmful to women's health. Such diseases need to be treated in time, but the wrong treatment method cannot be chosen. There are several misunderstandings that should be paid attention to in the treatment of polycystic ovary.

So what are the misunderstandings that should be paid attention to in the treatment of polycystic ovary? The following is a detailed introduction so that women can have a good understanding of this and avoid choosing such methods when treating such diseases.

Several misunderstandings to pay attention to in the treatment of polycystic ovary:

Misconception 1: Menstruation must be regulated on the month. Most patients with PCOS have irregular menstruation. It is common to have a delay of two or three months, or even amenorrhea. A small number of people experience irregular bleeding. There are also patients who had regular menstruation before, but have had irregular menstruation in the past two years. When encountering this kind of situation, patients will complain of menstrual disorders when seeing a doctor, and regulating menstruation becomes the top priority, especially for young people who are in the learning stage or have just started working. They want to have their periods every month like everyone else, and some doctors will use hormone drugs to adjust their menstrual cycles to normal. This seems perfect, but in practice it means little, because the "normal" menstruation regulated by hormones is only a superficial phenomenon, and most women return to their previous state after stopping the drugs. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that strong kidney qi is the most important condition for maintaining normal menstruation. Normal activity of Qi and blood in the body is the basic material condition for menstruation, and Qi and blood are derived from the functional activities of the internal organs. Therefore, strong kidney Qi and normal function of the internal organs are the conditions for maintaining menstruation. If these conditions are not met, there is no basis for hormones alone to act on the uterus and ovaries. Everyone's physiological conditions are different, and their menstrual situations are also different. It is clinically difficult and meaningless to try to regulate menstruation every month. Therefore, we advocate that menstruation regulation does not necessarily have to be done at the right month. It is also okay to do it a little later. Don't have too much mental burden to avoid aggravating the condition.

Misconception 2: To treat infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome, menstruation must be adjusted first. Judging from outpatient clinic conditions, the number of women suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome and thus infertility is gradually increasing. Most of them believe that in order to get pregnant, they must first adjust their menstrual cycle to normal, otherwise they will not get pregnant. Many doctors also think so. Therefore, there is a treatment method that uses Progynova, Dyne-35, Marvelon, and progesterone to regulate menstruation, and then uses ovulation-inducing drugs to induce ovulation in order to achieve pregnancy. This method is effective for some patients, but not for others, who may experience anovulation or excessive ovulation of the follicles that cannot be discharged normally. According to TCM theory, "kidneys govern reproduction" and "menstrual fluid comes from the kidneys". Most of these patients suffer from kidney deficiency, and irregular menstruation is also caused by kidney deficiency. Therefore, the treatment should focus on tonifying the kidney, while also using methods such as nourishing blood, activating blood circulation, resolving phlegm and promoting qi circulation. When the kidney qi is gradually strong and the Chong and Ren meridians are in harmony, menstruation will come and the dominant follicle will develop. You should not just attack it and just want to speed up the menstruation. It is normal to delay the menstruation by 50 days or more than two months. You just need to use some means to find and capture the mature follicles, such as using ovulation test strips to measure morning urine, B-ultrasound monitoring, measuring basal body temperature, and observing whether the leucorrhea is stringy, and then choose a time to conceive.

Misconception 3: Using Western medicine alone without Chinese medicine conditioning. It is often seen that patients hold thick medical records and take a look. From checking six hormone levels, taking Dyne-35, Marvelon, progesterone, clomiphene, injecting HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), to B-ultrasound to check ovulation, all have become formulaic treatments, but the results are not satisfactory. Either menstruation does not come after stopping the medication, or no dominant follicle develops, or the follicle still cannot be discharged smoothly after intramuscular injection of HCG. When combined with Chinese medicine for nourishing the kidney and removing blood stasis, it has a significant synergistic effect on stabilizing the menstrual cycle, the growth and development of follicles, and promoting the rupture of mature follicles from the surface of the ovaries and subsequent ovulation. Through long-term observation, kidney-tonifying medicines such as Rehmannia glutinosa, Morinda officinalis, Curculigo orchioides, Epimedium brevicornum, and Placenta can thicken the endometrium, increase the weight of the uterus, and promote the development and maturation of follicles, while blood-activating and qi-promoting medicines such as Leech, Cyperus rotundus, Angelica sinensis, Ligusticum chuanxiong, and Zedoaria can stimulate qi and blood, and promote the discharge of mature follicles from the ovaries. The three-step follicle rupture method we have summarized is used when the follicle develops to maturity but cannot be discharged for a long time. Combining traditional Chinese and western medicine to treat PCOS is an effective method.

Misconception 4: Focusing on drug treatment and ignoring other pathogenic factors. We often see some patients who take medicine on time but the effect is not obvious. The reason for this is mostly that not enough attention is paid to other aspects. For example, working the night shift, or often staying up late, having an irregular work and rest schedule, craving for coolness, drinking cold drinks, wearing overly thin clothes, exposing the navel, can cause the body to catch cold and cause stagnation of Qi and blood. In addition, excessive dieting, excessive exercise, and excessive weight loss can lead to deficiency of Qi and blood in the body, and malnutrition of the Chong and Ren meridians. At the same time, regular use of contraceptives or excessive study or work pressure or mental stress can also cause the disease or aggravate the condition. Some patients did not have this disease when they were examined a year ago, but were recently found to have this disease, which shows that this disease is dynamic and affected by multiple factors. Therefore, it is important to relax and change bad eating habits while taking medication.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of several misunderstandings that should be paid attention to in the treatment of polycystic ovary. Therefore, when women treat this type of disease, they must be proactive and not delay, otherwise the disease will become more serious, making future treatment very complicated.
