Brown stuff in vaginal discharge

Brown stuff in vaginal discharge

If there is dark brown secretion in the secretion, this situation can be considered for two reasons. If it is between two menstrual periods, it is considered to be ovulation bleeding, which is not a big problem and will usually stop in a day or two. In addition, if there is chronic cervical inflammation or cervical polyps, brown discharge may also occur. Therefore, in this situation, it is recommended to check the cervix to clear cervical diseases. If there are cervical polyps, cervical polypectomy is required. If you have chronic cervical inflammation, you need vaginal suppositories such as Baofukang suppositories.

Normal female secretions are white or transparent. If there is dark brown stuff, it means there is bleeding. This kind of blood either comes out from the cervix or from the uterus. Vaginal bleeding in women can be bright red, dark red, or dark brown. Dark brown blood usually means that it has been in the uterus for a long time before flowing out. This situation may also be that the menstrual period is not clean, and then after activities or sexual intercourse, there is such secretion and dark brown secretion must flow out. If this happens in the middle or late period of the menstrual cycle, it is necessary to rule out bleeding caused by ovulation, because women's hormone levels change significantly during ovulation, which may lead to vaginal bleeding.

There are three situations in which the secretions contain dark brown substances: the first is considered to be caused by inflammation, including vaginal, cervical, and pelvic inflammation; the second is caused by uterine fibroids and ovarian tumors; the third is the side effect of the contraceptive ring. For the above three conditions, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a gynecological examination, examination of female secretions, and colposcopy. If the brown leucorrhea is caused by cervical erosion, mild cervical erosion can be treated with vaginal suppositories; for moderate to severe erosion, it is recommended to choose ablation surgery or cervical erosion surgery.

If the brown leucorrhea is caused by uterine fibroids, conservative treatment or surgical treatment should be chosen based on the size of the tumor and clinical manifestations. If the brown leucorrhea is caused by an IUD, it is recommended to remove the IUD, replace it with another one, or use other contraceptive measures.
