During pregnancy, pregnant mothers all know a due date, that is, the time of the newborn. However, some pregnant mothers do not show any signs of symptoms when their due date comes. So what should we do? Let’s take a look together. What is the reason why the baby hasn’t been born yet when the due date has arrived? The fetus can survive in the uterine cavity for 280 days. After this time, the uterus will no longer continue to grow, the embryo will gradually become aging, the amniotic membrane's metabolic capacity will gradually weaken, and the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman will gradually decrease. However, the fetus will continue to grow, so medicine has set a time limit, with 2 weeks of postpartum period as post-term pregnancy. Continuous exercise keeps both the mother and the fetus in a positive state. When the baby is fully developed, the fetus will secrete a hormone into the mother's blood, prompting the mother's pituitary gland to secrete oxytocin, initiating uterine contractions and giving birth. This is what is often called "ripe fruit falls off the vine". After delivery, the fetus actively seeks the appropriate meridian in the mother's pelvis to rush outward; the mother is calm after delivery, and as the labor process progresses, the fetus slowly descends under the promotion of waves of uterine rotation and symmetrical contraction and abdominal muscle contraction. When the fetal head is in the pelvic body, the contraction of the pelvic floor muscles promotes the smooth delivery of the fetus. When the pregnant woman's activity decreases, the fetus lacks the energy for normal exercise provided by the mother, so the fetus has poor self-awareness and cannot actively secrete hormones for the mother. The mother lacks exercise, her muscles lack elasticity, and a small amount of oxytocin cannot initiate uterine contractions, so the birth is delayed and leads to post-term pregnancy. In addition, prolonged pregnancy is also related to fetal adrenal function. The following conditions such as anencephaly, hydrocephalus, abnormalities in head cavity relationship; or the pregnant mother is an older primiparous mother, imbalance in the ratio of estrogen/estrogen, genetic inheritance and other factors are very likely to cause prolonged pregnancy. Its incidence accounts for about 5%-12% of the number of pregnancies. What should I do if the due date has arrived but the baby hasn’t been born yet? Many pregnant women suffer from this situation, and the baby still does not move even after the due date. What should I do if the due date is exceeded? In fact, it is normal for pregnant women to give birth within half a month before or after the due date. If a baby is born between 24 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, it is considered a premature baby, and if it is born after 42 weeks of pregnancy, it is considered a delayed birth. If a pregnant woman has already passed her due date but has not yet shown any signs of labor, she must pay attention to the following: 1. Don't be too anxious and pay attention to the baby's fetal movements. Once the fetal movement is less than 3 times per hour or less than 20 times within 12 hours, or the fetal movement becomes weak, you need to go to the hospital for further examination immediately. The doctor will decide the time for the pregnant woman to give birth based on the situation. 2. Conduct another pregnancy check-up and give the doctor the results of early pregnancy tests (such as B-ultrasound, blood tests, pregnancy tests, etc.) and the time and results of the baby's fetal movement, so that the doctor can check the number of weeks of pregnancy again. 3. Increase pregnancy checkups, shorten the checkup intervals, keep in touch with the doctor at any time, inform the doctor of the baby's fetal movement in the uterine cavity, and also perform B-ultrasound to follow up the amniotic fluid flow. If no abnormalities are found, you can become pregnant again under close monitoring. If the delivery date is delayed beyond 14 days, which is what clinical medicine calls post-term pregnancy, the embryo of some pregnant women will become fragile and the fetus will suffer from lack of oxygen and suffocation, which will cause great harm to the child and you should go to the hospital immediately to take effective measures. |
