Uterine prolapse is also a common gynecological disease. In addition to surgical treatment, diet therapy also has certain effects from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine. 1. Clinical manifestations 1. Pain in the lumbar and sacral regions, especially in the sacral region, which is more obvious after labor and can be relieved by resting in bed. In addition, patients feel a sense of heaviness in the lower abdomen, vagina, and perineum, which is aggravated by fatigue. 2. Vaginal prolapse and swelling. The patient reported that a spherical object prolapsed from the vagina, which was more obvious when walking or doing physical labor, and returned to the original position on its own after bed rest. In severe cases of prolapse, the prolapse remains outside all day and cannot be fixed by itself. When walking, the prolapse causes friction with clothes, causing discomfort. Long-term friction may lead to ulcers, infection, increased secretions, and even bleeding. Over time, the local tissue may become thickened and keratinized. 3. Urinary tract symptoms: For most patients with uterine prolapse, when they laugh, cough violently, or exert force, the abdominal pressure suddenly increases, causing urinary incontinence and urine overflow. Uterine prolapse is often accompanied by varying degrees of cystocele, but whether stress urinary incontinence occurs depends on whether the anatomical relationship between the bladder and urethra is changed. A small number of patients with uterine prolapse have difficulty urinating, which leads to urinary retention. They need to push the bulging bladder forward with their fingers before they can urinate. The cause is severe cystocele, where the enlarged bladder is located below the urethra. 4. Menstrual changes and excessive leucorrhea are caused by pelvic organ prolapse, which leads to blood circulation disorders and local congestion, affecting normal menstruation and causing excessive menstruation. In addition, due to blood circulation disorders, prolapse of organs may cause ulcers and infections, resulting in increased leucorrhea and bloody secretions. 5. Generally, it does not affect conception, pregnancy and delivery. However, if the uterus prolapses and cannot be reduced, cervical edema may occur after delivery, and the cervix may be difficult to dilate, leading to dystocia. 6. Physical signs. The uterus moves downward from the cervix being located in the vagina <14 cm from the hymen to the uterine body being completely protruding out of the vaginal opening. Unreducible uterine prolapse is often accompanied by rectocele, thickening and keratinization of the vaginal mucosa, hypertrophy and elongation of the cervix, and the distance between the vesicouterine fossa and the anterior vaginal fornix is >2 cm and can be as long as 4 to 5 cm. When severe uterine prolapse is accompanied by bladder prolapse, the transverse groove folds of the vaginal vesica disappear, and the lower limit of the bladder may be longer than the external opening of the cervix. In severe uterine prolapse, the bladder and ureter move downward, forming a positive "△" area with the urethral opening. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that uterine prolapse is mainly caused by qi deficiency and sinking, as well as kidney deficiency, which leads to damage to the envelope and inability to lift the uterus. The most common clinical types are Qi deficiency and kidney deficiency, which can be treated with diet therapy. Treatment of Kidney Deficiency The patient's uterus moves downward or prolapses outside the vaginal opening, accompanied by soreness in the waist and knees, a falling lower abdomen, dizziness, tinnitus, and frequent urination. It is especially severe at night, with vaginal dryness and less leucorrhea. The following dietary treatments are available: 1. Golden Cherry, Astragalus and Lean Meat Soup: 30 grams of Golden Cherry, 30 grams of Astragalus, 15 grams of Lycium barbarum, 12 grams of Cimicifuga, and appropriate amount of lean pork. Boil the soup together, eat the meat and drink the soup. 2. Egg soup with Polygonum multiflorum and Cornus officinalis: 3 eggs, 30 grams of Polygonum multiflorum, 9 grams of Cornus officinalis. First boil them in water, then extract the juice of the two medicines, add the eggs and cook until done. 3. Gorgon fruit, walnut and red date porridge: 20 grams each of gorgon fruit and walnut meat, 15 grams of red date meat. Cook the porridge, add sugar and season it. Qi deficiency type conditioning The patient's uterus moves downward or prolapses outside the vaginal opening, accompanied by lower abdominal prolapse, mental fatigue, weakness in the limbs, frequent urination, and a large amount of thin white leucorrhea. The following dietary treatments are available: 1. Astragalus porridge: 30 grams of astragalus and appropriate amount of rice. Cook both into porridge and eat. 2. Cimicifuga egg: 1 egg, 3 grams of Cimicifuga. Grind the Cimicifuga into powder, open the top of an egg and put the Cimicifuga powder into it with the opening facing upwards, steam it in water and eat the egg. What are the precautions for self-treatment of uterine prolapse ① Pay attention to resting in bed. When sleeping, it is advisable to elevate your hips or feet, raising the height by two bricks. ② Do not get out of bed and move around too early after delivery, especially do not engage in heavy physical labor too early. ③Avoid long-term standing or squatting, holding your breath, and other actions that increase abdominal pressure. ④ Keep bowel and bladder functions unobstructed. ⑤ Timely treat diseases that increase abdominal pressure, such as chronic bronchitis and diarrhea. ⑥ The breastfeeding period should not exceed two years to avoid atrophy of the uterus and its supporting tissues. ⑦ Carry out appropriate physical exercise to improve physical fitness. ⑧Increase nutrition and eat more foods that have the effect of replenishing qi and nourishing the kidneys, such as chicken, yam, lentils, lotus seeds, water chestnuts, loaches, mussels, leeks, dates, etc. ⑨Be moderate in sexual intercourse. |
