What causes menstrual bleeding?

In traditional Chinese medicine, metrorrhagia is considered a very serious disease, but traditional Chinese medicine has not made great efforts to explore the actual causes of non-menstrual vaginal bleeding. From the perspective of Western medicine, the so-called metrorrhagia in traditional Chinese medicine can correspond to many diseases, such as vaginal wall tumors, vaginal injuries, etc. Below we will introduce what causes metrorrhagia.

1. Fungal vaginitis. This disease causes the vaginal mucosa to be covered with a milky white film-like substance. When the milky white film-like substance is wiped off, superficial ulcers or erosions may be seen on the vaginal wall. Ulcers or erosions on the vaginal wall can cause bleeding, and the discharge may be like tofu-like leucorrhea, private skin itching, vulvar pain, etc.

2. Intravaginal tumors. The surface of the tumor produced by this disease may become infected, ulcerated, and necrotic, causing vaginal bleeding.

3. Mechanical damage to the vaginal wall. The vaginal wall of women is delicate and can be easily damaged by foreign body stimulation, causing vaginal bleeding. The size of the bleeding is related to many factors, such as the size of the total area of the injury, coagulation, and the amount of exercise.

4. Cervical cyst. This disease often occurs on the basis of cervical tuberculosis and cervical inflammation. Repeated inflammation and recovery can cause cysts, and the diseased tissue may cause ulcers. When the ulcers rupture, vaginal bleeding will occur. The cyst material is too brittle and can easily rupture due to contact, causing bleeding.

5. Cervical tumor disease. The tumor invades the blood vessels in the interstitial space and causes vaginal bleeding. In the early stage, most of the bleeding is contact bleeding, but in the middle or late stage, it is very easy to cause internal bleeding.

6. Endometrial inflammation. The uterine wall suffers from repeated hematoma and edema, and in severe cases, ulcers may form on the uterine wall, leading to long-term vaginal bleeding.

7. Uterine tumor. The tumor affects the normal contraction and blood circulation function of the uterus, and affects the normal closure of the uterine wall. Especially under adhesion, uterine fibroids are prone to local tissue necrosis and infection. These factors can cause vaginal bleeding.

The above is a detailed introduction to the causes of metrorrhagia. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the so-called metrorrhagia is mainly divided into liver-kidney yin deficiency type, yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire type, blood heat type, blood stasis type, qi deficiency and blood stasis, and blood heat. Many people may feel overwhelmed when seeing this reason. When menstrual bleeding occurs, the amount of bleeding is very heavy. At this time, you should consider going to the hospital for a physical examination and treatment immediately, actively find out the cause of vaginal bleeding, and then give treatment.
