High uterine artery resistance

High uterine artery resistance

There are many reasons for the high friction resistance of the uterine artery. First of all, the more common one is uterine artery sclerosis. The reduced elasticity of the uterine artery wall will lead to an increase in friction resistance. It is more common in middle-aged and elderly women, especially those with hypertension, hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, and is also accompanied by sclerosis of other blood vessels.

Secondly, the more common one is the blockage of the uterine artery. The main cause is the fall of plaques in women suffering from atherosclerosis, which then blocks the uterine artery, resulting in increased uterine artery friction resistance. It is also caused by amniotic fluid embolism during delivery during pregnancy. It is relatively rare and has a very low survival rate. Secondly, it is caused by partial compression of the uterine artery, which is most common in the late pregnancy, when the expanding fetus will compress some blood vessels. Finally, due to the compression of uterine fibroids or tumors in the urinary system or other internal organs in the abdomen, the frictional resistance of the blood vessels in the compressed area is increased.

What is uterine artery friction resistance?

Uterine artery blood refers to the blood supply to the uterus. If the patient has fetal umbilical cord or embryo problems, the uterine artery friction resistance value will be higher (RL refers to the umbilical artery friction resistance index value). Generally speaking, when a woman is about 50 days pregnant, the test tube embryo will develop a fetal bud, fetal heart rate and fetal heartbeat. If the ultrasound examination results do not detect the embryonic bud, fetal heart rate and fetal heartbeat, it means that the test tube embryo has stopped growing and developing. This situation is fetal arrest and needs to be checked and treated as soon as possible to avoid affecting women's pregnancy and normal childbirth.

Standard value of uterine artery friction resistance

The standard value of uterine artery friction resistance is less than 3.0. It is the ratio of the blood velocity between the arteries and veins of the fetal umbilical cord, which is mainly related to the growth and development of blood vessels. The larger the value, the better. When it is too high, it means that the blood supply to the embryo is relatively poor. You should pay attention to rest, maintain a positive attitude, and be in a good mood. Avoid heavy physical work, improve nutrition and pay attention to follow-up visits. If the value is within the normal value, it means that the blood supply to the fetus is good. The test is of great significance for the middle and late stages of pregnancy, but has little impact on the early stages of pregnancy.
