How to treat incomplete septate uterus?

At present, many female friends are facing the trouble of infertility. Infertility caused by various reasons puts many families at risk of breaking up. Especially when a woman is diagnosed with an incomplete septate uterus, many people lose confidence and feel that they will never be able to get pregnant. In fact, this disease can be treated. Let me introduce you to some knowledge in this regard!

Uterine septum is a female uterine malformation, which is defined according to the difference in the partition of the uterine cavity and can be divided into complete uterine septum and incomplete uterine septum. The clinical symptoms are not obvious, and some patients may have symptoms such as increased menstruation and miscarriage. Uterine septum changes the symmetry of the uterine cavity, interferes with normal reproductive function, and causes primary infertility or refractory infertility.

Uterine septate is a congenital reproductive malformation that cannot be treated. Therefore, surgery is the only way to treat uterine septate. Traditional surgical methods include removing mediastinal tissue via the vagina or abdomen, as follows:

1. Removal of uterine septum through abdominal opening

Before the advent of hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, the treatment for uterine septum was to make a transverse incision at the fundus of the uterus through the abdomen and shear the septum, or to make a midline incision in the uterine body to trim the uterine septum and reconstruct the uterine muscle wall. This surgical procedure will leave scars on the uterus and abdominal wall, cause great trauma, and take a long time to recover. It can easily cause uterine adhesions, which in turn may affect pregnancy again. After removing the uterine septum through an abdominal opening, contraception is required for at least two years, and another cesarean section is required after pregnancy. This is not suitable for women who urgently need a baby.

2. Transvaginal hysteroscopic excision of uterine septum

Nowadays, most hospitals use hysteroscopic electrosurgical excision loop to remove the uterine septum. This is a method that uses a hysteroscope to enter the uterus through the vagina and remove the connective tissue of the uterine septum. However, the uterine septum is not redundant tissue. When electroresection is performed under laparoscopy, it is easy to damage the uterus and abdominal cavity, causing uterine defects, intrauterine adhesions, or the gathering of two uterine horns, turning the original infertility into infertility (abortion).

When an incomplete uterine septate occurs, it can be treated through surgery, but it should be noted that if surgery is to be performed, it is best to choose a professional and regular hospital, which is more guaranteed. In addition, if you develop this disease, don't lose confidence. As long as you actively receive treatment, you can still give birth to a healthy baby.
