What causes sudden dizziness and cold sweats in pregnant women?

Pregnant women are a group we need to protect. Their physical constitutions are very weak. It is common for pregnant women to suddenly feel dizzy and have cold sweats during pregnancy. This makes pregnant women and their families very nervous. They don’t know if they are seriously ill, and they don’t know if this will have any adverse effects on the fetus. There are many reasons why pregnant women suddenly feel dizzy and have cold sweats. Let us take a detailed look at them below.

Dizziness and blurred vision after pregnancy are one of the common symptoms among pregnant women. In mild cases, the patient may feel dizzy, unsteady on his feet, or experience black spots in front of his eyes, blurred vision, or even fainting when he suddenly stands up or walks. Therefore, it is normal to experience dizziness during pregnancy, so don’t worry too much.

In fact, common causes of dizziness during pregnancy include hypoglycemia, hypotension, supine syndrome and physiological anemia.

1. Hypoglycemia: Due to the accelerated metabolism after pregnancy, the blood flow to the pancreas increases compared to the non-pregnant period, so the physiological function of the pancreas is very strong. The insulin level in the blood of pregnant women is relatively high, resulting in low blood sugar (especially fasting blood sugar) in pregnant women, resulting in symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, hand tremors and cold sweats.

2. Hypotension: This is due to the formation of the placenta during the early and middle stages of pregnancy, which diverts part of the blood and causes a slight decrease in the blood volume of pregnant women; compared with the non-pregnant period, it can generally decrease by 5-15 mmHg.

3. Physiological anemia: Blood volume begins to increase from the 6th week of pregnancy and reaches a peak at 36-34 weeks. Since the increase in plasma is greater than the increase in red blood cells, the blood is relatively diluted, and the number of red blood cells and the amount of hemoglobin decrease relatively, leading to physiological anemia.

In short, there are many reasons for dizziness during pregnancy, such as pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, mental fatigue and psychological factors.

Now everyone must be clear about the reasons why pregnant women suddenly feel dizzy and sweat coldly. For pregnant women, they must pay attention to their physical condition and take good care of themselves. Whether in life or at work, they must be careful not to overwork themselves. They must have enough sleep and a reasonable diet. Pay attention to the nutritional combination of diet and eat more nutritious foods.
