Can endometriosis be detected by ultrasound?

Endometriosis is a very common disease. When women suffer from this disease, they need timely relief, otherwise it will have a great impact on their fertility. Women should not be anxious when they have this kind of problem. They should first undergo various physical examinations so that they can have a good understanding of their own conditions and then receive treatment to improve the problem. But can endometriosis be detected by B-ultrasound? Many people do not know this.

Can endometriosis be detected by ultrasound?

Endometriosis can be detected by ultrasound. Ultrasound examination of endometriosis is an auxiliary means, which can easily be similar to other gynecological diseases. The sonogram of endometrioid cysts shows granular and fine echoes. Currently, laparoscopy is the main method for diagnosing endometriosis. Laparoscopy can directly observe the pelvic cavity, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by seeing the ectopic lesions.

Check for endometriosis with the following symptoms;

1. Dysmenorrhea and pain; mainly manifested as secondary and progressive dysmenorrhea. The pain is mostly located in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, and may radiate to the vagina, perineum, anus or thigh. Symptoms of endometriosis: Dysmenorrhea, which usually starts 1-2 days before menstruation, is most severe on the first day of menstruation, and gradually subsides after menstruation, but progressively worsens with the menstrual cycle, and the degree of pain is not proportional to the size of the lesion.

When the ectopic endometrium involves the rectouterine pouch and uterosacral ligament, there are often pain during sexual intercourse and a feeling of anal distension, especially during menstruation; in abdominal wall scar endometriosis, the abdominal wall scar will increase and cause severe pain during menstruation; intestinal endometriosis is accompanied by diarrhea or constipation, and even periodic bloody stools, which can cause unbearable pain during defecation; bladder endometriosis can cause periodic frequent urination, dysuria or hematuria; rupture of ovarian chocolate cysts can cause acute abdominal pain and peritoneal irritation signs, which are similar to the symptoms of ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

2. Irregular menstruation, increased menstruation or prolonged menstruation.

3; Infertility. If it is endometriosis of the uterus and ovaries, it can be detected by B-ultrasound. Regular ovulatory bleeding is different from endometriosis.

After understanding whether endometriosis can be detected by B-ultrasound, women should actively cooperate during physical examinations. No matter which examination method is used, if women do not cooperate, it will not be of any benefit to themselves and will also affect the examination results. Women should also pay attention to this.
