Specific steps of postpartum lactation technique

What are the specific steps of postpartum lactation technique? Pregnant women will induce milk to feed their babies after giving birth. The quality of the milk depends on the condition of the mother. Some women are relatively thin and the quality of their milk is relatively low, which is not suitable for feeding the baby. At this time, the mother needs to undergo postpartum lactation induction. The effect of this method is very good. What are the specific steps of postpartum lactation induction? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

The principle of massage to promote lactation is to regulate qi and activate blood circulation, relax muscles and tendons, and dredge meridians. The basic techniques used include tapping, pressing, kneading and holding. However, in actual application, multiple techniques must be coordinated with each other.

When inducing lactation, in order to prevent skin damage during massage, hands and breasts are usually lubricated with sesame oil or lotion first, and then the palms of both hands are used to gently push and stroke along the mammary ducts from all sides of the breasts towards the nipples to promote blood circulation and unclog the mammary ducts. If there is a lump on the breast, you should push from the good part to the lump until the entire breast becomes soft. Finally, use your thumb and index finger to squeeze around the areola to more effectively promote lactation.

Mothers can also use a clean towel dipped in warm water, and wipe in a circular motion from the center of the nipple to the areola, for 15 minutes on each side, while assisting with the following massage methods:

Circular massage: Place your hands above and below the breasts and massage the entire breast in a circular direction;

Spiral massage: Hold the breast with one hand, and use the index and middle fingers of the other hand to massage in a spiral shape towards the nipple;

Acupressure massage: Place your hands on both sides of your breasts and squeeze from the breasts to the nipples.

The specific operation of the postpartum lactation technique is relatively simple, and pregnant women can learn to operate it. This method of lactation is suitable for every woman. Therefore, women can check whether their milk secretion is sufficient after giving birth. If it is not enough, they should consider taking some lactation-inducing foods to increase milk, and the postpartum lactation technique is the most suitable method.
