Is there granulation at the vaginal opening? Is it condyloma acuminatum?

Some people find that there are granulations at the opening of their vagina, and they do not get better after a period of time. Many people then suspect that they have genital warts. In fact, there are many reasons for the presence of granulations at the vaginal opening, one of the most important of which may be unclean daily living habits. So how to diagnose whether the granulations at the vaginal opening are genital warts? In fact, there are many ways in real life that can help you distinguish them. Let’s follow the editor to find out.

1. Diagnose genital warts based on the appearance of the warts: The surface of typical genital warts is rough and uneven, and the appearance is generally thorn-like, cauliflower-like, nipple-like, cockscomb-like, or has a pedicle at the root and is fused into pieces. Therefore, once single or multiple warts with rough surfaces and appearance are found in the external genitalia, perianal area, perineum or vagina, they can basically be identified as genital warts.

2. Differential diagnosis of genital warts based on the acetic acid white test: Warts with atypical appearance can be differentiated by the acetic acid white test (this test can be done at home). The method is: prepare 3%-5% acetic acid (the concentration of edible white vinegar is 4%-6%, which can be used as a genital wart identification solution). Apply gauze or paper towel soaked in white vinegar to the growth and observe whether the protrusion turns white after 3-5 minutes (warts in the perianal area require 10-15 minutes). If the growths become noticeably white, it is a positive reaction and can be diagnosed as genital warts.

3. Perform a pathological examination to diagnose whether it is genital warts: If the appearance is not typical and the positive result after the acetic acid white test is not obvious, a pathological examination can be performed on the growth to confirm the diagnosis. The characteristic cells of genital warts are condyloma acuminatum. If diagnostic condyloma acuminatum can be found through tissue pathology, it can be diagnosed as genital warts. However, this examination is expensive, usually around three hundred yuan, so if the diagnosis can be made through the appearance of the wart, the acetic acid white test, and whether the growth has a tendency to grow larger or increase, then there is no need to get tested.

After reading the above content, do you know how to diagnose whether the granulation tissue at the vaginal opening is genital warts? In fact, as long as we pay attention to cleanliness in our daily lives, especially for underwear, we must wash it thoroughly, similar situations generally will not occur. But I believe that everyone will know how to identify the presence of granulation tissue at the vaginal opening in the future.
