Introduction to physiological contraceptive period

When women use contraception, they should choose a safe method so as not to harm their health. Many women choose drugs when using contraception. Although this method is effective, long-term use of drugs for contraception will also cause damage to their health and seriously affect women's fertility. Then the physiological contraceptive period is a good choice, which can also be used for contraception.

Physiological contraceptive period:

The so-called female physiological safety period is a period of time in a woman's menstrual cycle. During this period of time, if you do not take any contraceptive measures during sexual intercourse, you will basically not get pregnant.

When is the safe period and how to determine it

1. The seven days before menstruation and the eight days after menstruation are basically safe. The total of 15 days is the safe period.

2. Calculation of safe period:

The day of female ovulation is counted back 14 days from the first day of her menstruation. The first 4 days and the last 5 days of the 14th day are the dangerous period. The rest of the day is the safe period. For example, a woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, and the first day of this menstruation is December 2nd. Then the next menstruation will be on December 30th (December 2nd plus 28 days). Subtract 14 days from December 30th, and December 16th is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after it, that is, December 11-20, is the ovulation period. Except for the menstrual period and ovulation period, the rest of the time is the safe period. The safe period is not completely "safe". It is recommended that contraceptive drugs or tools should be used as much as possible during sexual intercourse during the safe period.

3. The possibility of pregnancy during the safe period is very small, only about 1-5% (that is, the probability of not getting pregnant is 95%-99%). The accidental pregnancy rate of most contraceptives is 10% (that is, the probability of not getting pregnant is 90%).

After understanding the physiological contraceptive period, women can follow the above methods when taking contraceptive measures. However, if women want to be able to take effective contraceptive measures, they must also have a good grasp of all aspects of their own conditions, especially the menstrual period must be regular, so that contraception can be carried out smoothly.
