What to do if vaginal itching occurs after menstruation?

As women continue to grow, many of them will encounter some difficult-to-talk-about problems in their later years. Some of them are not very serious and they will just endure it without going to the hospital for treatment. For example, some women will experience vaginal itching after menstruation, but are embarrassed to go to the hospital. So what should they do if they have vaginal itching after menstruation?

Consider Candida vulvovaginitis or vulvar pruritus, Candida vulvovaginitis; vaginal pruritus and increased leucorrhea are the prominent manifestations of this disease. Local itching. Due to scratching, the labia minora may become swollen, with epidermal erosion, scratches and pustules. The vaginal discharge increases and becomes thick, cheese-like or okara-like, with a foul odor. There may also be vaginal pain, irritation and difficulty in sexual intercourse.

Examination may reveal a white pseudomembrane on the vaginal wall mucosa, which may leave erythema or erosion after shedding, and the vaginal wall may become congested and edematous. Candida can be isolated from the vagina of some asymptomatic healthy women. But it does not necessarily cause vaginitis. Pregnancy, oral contraceptives or antibiotics, diabetes or wearing tight, non-breathable underwear may be the triggering factors of vaginitis.

Vulvar itching is mostly located in the clitoris and labia minora. It may also affect the labia majora, perineum and even perianal areas. It is often paroxysmal, but can also be continuous, usually exacerbated at night. Unexplained vulvar itching usually only occurs in women of childbearing age or postmenopausal women, and often affects the entire vulva.

But it may also be limited to a certain part or one side of the vulva. Although the itching is very severe and even unbearable, the local skin and mucous membrane appear normal, or there are only scratches due to excessive scratching. Timely diagnosis and careful local and systemic examinations, as well as necessary laboratory tests, should be performed to find out the cause.

After the above introduction, I believe that many women will pay attention to it and take corresponding treatment measures. However, for some women with severe itching, it is recommended to go to the hospital for sterilization treatment, otherwise long-term bacterial invasion will cause more serious consequences.
