What are the methods of inducing ovulation?

A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period. Starting from the first day of the next menstrual period, counting down 14 days or subtracting 14 days is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation day are called the ovulation period. Women of childbearing age generally ovulate one ovulation per month, which can be released alternately from the left and right ovaries, or continuously from one ovary. There are many ways to test ovulation day, the main ones are the following six.

1. Aquino Law

The Aquino method is also known as the mathematical formula method, which means that the ovulation day is 14 to 15 days forward from the last day of the menstrual cycle (that is, the first day of the next menstruation). If the next menstrual period is on the Nth day, then the ovulation day this time is the N-14th day. Although the length of the menstrual cycle varies from person to person, and even the length of each cycle for the same person is not exactly the same, the luteal phase lasts for most people at 14 days, which is constant. Changes in the menstrual cycle are caused by differences in the follicular phase. So we can use mathematical formulas to simply predict the ovulation day.

2. Cervical mucus method

Cervical mucus appears throughout the menstrual cycle and has subtle cyclical changes. Just after menstruation, the amount of mucus secretion gradually increases and becomes thinner and transparent, similar to egg white, reaching its peak before ovulation. It can also be said that the probability of ovulation is highest on the day with the most mucus. If you observe and record the state of your mucus every night and understand the pattern of mucus changes, you can easily find your ovulation day.

3. Intermediate Pain Method

Some people experience pain in the lower abdomen between menstrual periods, just before ovulation, which is called intermediate pain or ovulation pain. Experts have investigated and found that % of the middle pain is felt before ovulation. Therefore, if there is middle pain, it can be assumed that ovulation will occur within hours.

4. Basal body temperature method

The so-called basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when you wake up in the morning, your body remains quiet and your mood is calm. During the menstrual cycle, basal body temperature changes cyclically. The basal body temperature is lower after menstruation and during the follicular phase. After ovulation, the corpus luteum is formed in the ovary, and the progesterone produced acts on the hypothalamic temperature regulation center, causing the body temperature to rise. This rise lasts until the day before menstruation or the first day of menstruation, when the body temperature returns to its original level.

5. Ultrasonic examination (vaginal B-ultrasound to detect ovulation)

Currently, major hospitals in China use vaginal B-ultrasound to observe the size of the ovaries, measure the size of follicles, and estimate when ovulation occurs. Using vaginal B-ultrasound to detect ovulation is the most direct and accurate method. If you can use the basal body temperature chart, secretion viscosity test and mid-term pain method, you can basically determine the ovulation day very accurately, which will greatly increase your chances of pregnancy.

6. Ovulation test paper.

In order to increase their pregnancy rate, some women now frequently take ovulation-stimulating drugs, thinking that it doesn't matter if they release a few more eggs, as they will grow again on their own after being released. This view is extremely wrong and it is very harmful to the ovaries. Excessive ovulation can also increase the risk of ovarian cancer. Therefore, it is very important to cherish eggs and protect ovaries.
