1. Skin lumps The most likely possibility is seborrheic keratosis (also known as seborrheic warts). These waxy lumps may appear alone or in clusters, usually on the face, chest, shoulders or back. Another possibility is soft fibroids (skin tags), which often appear on the neck, armpits, under the bottom line of the bra or other skin folds. The above two types are benign lumps that occur with age. Don’t worry. If you think they are unsightly, you can consider asking a doctor to remove them. Other possibilities: If the lump is painful, bleeds, or grows rapidly, it may need to be checked to see if it is benign or skin cancer. If the lump doubles in size every few weeks, this is a dangerous sign and must be paid attention to.
2. Stomach bloating Indigestion or premenstrual syndrome. Stomach bloating in women is usually caused by a diet high in fat, which slows down the stomach's digestion, or by the physiological reaction of approaching menstruation. It is recommended to eat small and frequent meals so as not to overfill the stomach. In addition, to avoid bloating, you should chew slowly and avoid drinking in large gulps. Also, be careful not to consume too much salt. Other possibilities: Irritable bowel syndrome. Appropriately increase the amount of yogurt you consume; the probiotics it contains can help relieve discomfort.
3. Spots on the face This may be the result of sunburn. Ultraviolet rays dilate capillaries and cause red spots or melanin on the skin. Spots caused by sunburn can be treated with a combination of retinoic acid, antioxidants and chemical whitening agents, but it is best used under the guidance of a doctor. Some medications, such as antibiotics or sulfonylureas, may also make the skin more sensitive to the sun and cause spots to worsen. Another type of gray-brown patch that often appears on women's faces is melasma, which is not harmful to health and can be lightened with certain prescription creams. Other possible causes: Addison's disease. This is an adrenal gland disease and you should seek medical attention if your skin becomes darker or grayish and is accompanied by weight loss, muscle weakness, fatigue, headache or vomiting.
4. Trembling hands Due to lack of sleep or excessive caffeine intake. Both fatigue and caffeine (including medications that contain it) can cause tremors in the hands and arms. Try getting more rest or cutting back on caffeine to see if that relieves your symptoms. Some medications may also cause upper body tremors: bronchodilators such as albuterol, immunosuppressants such as cyclosporine, and anti-epileptic drugs. Consult your doctor to adjust the dosage. In addition, the simplest reasons for trembling hands are excessive tension and cold. Other possibilities: Underlying neurological disease, such as essential tremor, Parkinson's disease, or thyroid disease. These diseases can be treated by consulting a doctor.
5. Chronic shoulder pain It's probably the computer that's to blame. Using a keyboard or mouse in one position for a long time can cause damage to the muscles in the back of the shoulder, which is more serious when it is touched. To avoid injury to your shoulders, stand up and rest for 5-10 minutes every hour. If you want to relieve shoulder discomfort, do upper body exercises three times a week: shrug, raise arms, single-arm rowing, reverse arm rocking, raise arms horizontally, etc. Other possibilities: bursitis. Due to excessive exercise, the bursa in the shoulder becomes inflamed. Treatment includes prescription pain medication, ice, physical therapy, and plenty of rest.
6. Black lines under the fingernails It is mostly caused by blood obstruction between the nails and the skin. Splinter hemorrhages caused by impact to the fingers usually disappear on their own within a few months. Other possibilities: acral melanoma. This is a type of skin cancer that often develops in easily overlooked places: on the soles of your feet or under your nails, forming a dark, narrow line. If the disease is diagnosed, surgery should be performed immediately.
7. Women grow beards Caused by a decrease in estrogen. Once a woman passes menopause, the small amount of male hormones in her body becomes relatively stronger, causing the growth of dark and coarse hair on the chin or cheeks. It can be treated by plucking and hair removal. Other possibilities: hirsutism. Due to abnormally high levels of male hormones, it may lead to polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian or adrenal tumors, etc. If other male physiological characteristics appear, such as a deepening voice, less hair, or smaller breasts, you should seek medical attention immediately. |
