The uterus is the organ that causes menstruation and creates the fetus. It is located in the center of the pelvis, between the bladder and duodenum. The size of the uterus is related to age and fertility. For nulliparous women, it is about 7.5 cm long, 5 cm wide and 3 cm thick. The uterus can be divided into three parts: the fundus, body and neck. The uterine cavity is an inverted triangle, about 6 cm deep, with the two upper corners being the "uterine horns", which lead to the bilateral fallopian tubes. The narrow part below is the "muscle wall", which is about 1 cm long. The muscle wall gradually expands during pregnancy, forming the lower uterine segment during labor.

The ratio of the uterine body to the cervix varies with age, 2:1 before puberty, 1:2 during the childbearing age, and 1:1 after menopause. The uterus is normally bent slightly forward, with the anterior wall lying on the bladder, almost at an oblique angle to the vagina, and its position may change with the degree of bladder and duodenal filling. The endometrium is composed of three layers from the outside to the inside: the serosa, muscle layer and mucosa (i.e. the endometrium). [1]

Uterine structure

A part of the female reproductive organ of animals and humans, and the place where the fetus or larvae of animals and humans grow and develop. The uterus is a female-specific internal organ. According to modern medical research, the uterus is the sixth internal organ of females, that is, females have six internal organs and six bowels.

The uterine wall is the mucosa, which is composed of epithelial cells (single-sided columnar epithelial cells, which include metabolic cells and microvilli cells) and the original membrane (composed of connective tissue, which contains many stellate cells, called culture matrix cells). The uterine wall can be divided into the superficial functional membrane and the superficial dermis. The functional layer is thicker, accounting for about 4/5 of the thickness of the endometrium, while the dermis is thinner and denser, accounting for about 1/5. During the physiological cycle, the functional layer can peel off, while the dermis cannot.

The Jigong, also known as the Baogong and the female Bao, is the original name in traditional Chinese medicine and belongs to the extraordinary palace. The name of Jigong was first seen in the entry for hair removal in Shennong's Herbal Classic, Zishi, which said that it was used to treat "cold symptoms in the Jigong of women, who will be infertile for ten years and have no offspring."

The location of the uterus: In the book "Classic Classics and Wings for the Treatment of the Three-Jiao Envelope and the Gate of Life" written by Zhang Jiebin of the Ming Dynasty, it is said that "the uterus is located in front of the duodenum and behind the bladder."

The shape of the Jigong: In the Jingyue Complete Book of Hair Removal for Women, Hair Removal for Offspring and Hair Removal from Ancient Times, Zhang Jiebin, a hair removal expert in the Ming Dynasty, quoted Zhu Danxi's words: "When yang and yin interact, the fetus is condensed, and the place where it is stored is called the Jigong. One part is at the bottom, and there are two forks on the top, which divide into two in the middle, shaped like a bowl, one for the left and the other for the right." It clearly states that the Jigong is an inverted triangle, with one part going downward (cervix), and a fork at the upper and lower corners (the bilateral fallopian tubes) that widen to both sides, that is, "there are two forks on the top"; the uterus is hollow, which is called "shaped like a bowl."

The function of the uterus: Zhang Jiebin's "The Different Internal Organs and Discharges": "The placenta of a woman is the uterus. It is also extraordinary if the pregnancy is formed by the essence of the financial cashier." It has the function of storing and draining financial cashier regularly.

The female uterus is the birthplace of new life, and during sexual intercourse, a series of significant changes will occur here. The uterus of an adult female is about 7-8 cm long, 4-5 cm wide at the bottom, 2-3 cm thick, and weighs about 40-50 grams. It is connected to the vagina at the bottom and has complex reactions during sexual intercourse, which brings women a unique experience.
