When gaining weight in autumn, do you still need to persist in losing weight?

The beginning of summer has just passed, and it is time to put on weight again. If you eat one more bite a day, you may gain weight. The few pounds you lost in the summer may come back in less than a week. What should I do? When people reach middle age, the only thing they will never leave is the fat on their bodies. However, I am still full of confidence in losing weight!

When it comes to losing weight, I am good at it. Although I have failed at certain stages so far, I have a lot of experience and I am still full of confidence. Let me tell you about some ridiculous things about losing weight so that you can avoid the pitfalls. Of course, I have to state in advance: these pitfalls are the ones I think are a bit difficult. To be honest, they still rely heavily on willpower. If you have strong willpower, you can just ignore them.


01. One of the pitfalls I have encountered: dieting to lose weight


In the beginning, I started by dieting.

As for dieting, everyone knows that eating will make you fat, and not eating or drinking can't make you fat. So at the beginning, I tried to drastically reduce the amount of food I eat.

As for the effect, I obviously lost weight in the short term, but the biggest problem is that I can't stick to it. Not only do I feel hungry, but it also affects my normal work and study. I can't stick to it for a few days, and then I overeat and rebound.


02. The second pitfall: Meal replacement and ketogenic diet


Later, I started trying some meal replacement foods, which did have some effect, but I just wasn’t used to the taste. So I gave up again.

Later, I learned about the ketogenic diet, which shocked me! I even read some literature to boost my confidence. But I was a little resistant inside, thinking that this diet was not very healthy and violated the usual evolutionary adaptation. But I still tried it, and found that it didn’t seem to work for me, and a high-fat diet could easily make people gain weight, not to mention not eating carbohydrates at all, which was really hard to accept!


03. My experience brings tears to my eyes.


Of course, I have tried medication before. Apart from anything else, the reduced fat absorption is visible to the naked eye, but I am not sure about the impact on the body.

It can be said that I have basically tried all the common processes. Although the samples are relatively simple, I still summarized some experience. That is:

1. Don’t sacrifice your sense of happiness too much. Make sure the food is delicious, but don’t go on a diet. To be honest, if you really miss out on delicious food, you will feel bad because of the reduced intake, and even start to doubt your life. Especially some people have reached the point of "only eating grass", which makes me admire them very much, I can't do that.

2. The food should be healthy overall. The nutritional ratio of the food should be appropriate overall, and the various nutrients should be balanced. This is also an important factor that has not made me successful, but I still believe that reducing intake cannot sacrifice the food ratio, otherwise it will lead to other problems.

3. Eat until you are 70% to 80% full. This is what I am doing now, that is, don't eat too much. After all, I used to study longevity, and the generally recognized secret to longevity is dietary restriction, which has been repeatedly proven in various experimental animals and even humans. This can reduce intake while ensuring health.

However, I still encountered a problem, that is, between meals, I would still feel a little hungry even if I was 70% to 80% full. It might be because my appetite was too big.


04. About healthy food


To be honest, among all the healthy foods, it is very rare to find ones that are both healthy and delicious. Many meal replacements are made to look so good that they lose your appetite, although I used to agree with this.

But as time goes by, I become more and more afraid of such products: although bad food can reduce the intake, it affects my mood. The day is busy enough, and then some bad food makes my mood even worse. At this time, I may give up losing weight, or even overeat, so all my efforts are wasted...

So when I choose healthy food, taste must be the first priority, otherwise I would rather add it to a full meal.


However, one of the problems I still need to solve is to get moving. I always feel that it is not enough to reduce my intake by adjusting my food intake, but I am lazy. The key is that it is too hot in summer. I will sweat even if I don’t move, let alone exercise. Next, I will not only eat scientifically but also find ways to exercise hard.
