Just after washing the car, it turned yellow! Strong wind + blowing sand, beware of this kind of disease

Last night's spring rain + dust all over the sky =?

Fortunately, the sky gradually cleared up at noon and the dust subsided in the afternoon. Dust storms frequently occur in this season. Respiratory diseases are very likely to occur. The number of patients visiting the respiratory department outpatient clinic is on the rise.

Many of my friends around me keep coughing. How to prevent respiratory diseases from happening or recurring? How to protect yourself? Let's see what Director Huo says.

Xiaohua (pseudonym), a 19-year-old college student, had a fever and cough for more than a week. At first, he didn't take it seriously and bought some medicine near the school. However, his condition fluctuated and never improved. He felt weak all over and coughed badly at night. Today, accompanied by his mother, he came to the respiratory department of our hospital. The CT scan of his lungs showed a "white" infection .

"It's pneumonia . Take some symptomatic medicine first, get enough rest, don't eat spicy food, don't eat fruit just out of the refrigerator, don't drink beverages..." Based on the symptoms and examination results, the doctor gave treatment and recovery advice.

In dusty weather, particulate matter has many harmful effects on the human body, and the most important impact is on the respiratory system . Pollutants enter the human body through the respiratory tract, causing a variety of respiratory diseases; through the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, throat and skin, they directly cause different degrees of irritation or allergic reactions to the human body.

01 The following groups should pay attention

① COPD patients. If you have obvious coughing and wheezing, and if you find that your blood oxygen level is decreasing, seek medical attention immediately. ② Asthma patients. If you have worsening coughing, sputum, and wheezing, monitor the maximum expiratory flow rate in time; if you find that your blood oxygen level is decreasing, use home inhalation drugs in time. If it still does not relieve the symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. ③ Elderly people (especially those with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases). Keep a blood oximeter at home, pay attention to changes in blood oxygen saturation, and be alert to respiratory failure.

02 How to protect yourself in sandstorm weather

Avoid contact with sand and dust, stay indoors as much as possible, and take protective measures when you must go out:

① Wear a mask to reduce the damage of wind and sand to the respiratory tract. In sandstorm weather, there will be floating dust, inhalable particles and fine particles at the same time. You can wear N95 or above protective masks.

② Wear windproof glasses. If sand and dust enter your eyes, do not rub them with your hands. Rinse with running water or use eye drops as soon as possible. If you still feel uncomfortable, seek medical attention immediately.
③ Wear dust-proof equipment such as hats and scarves. Cover your head with a scarf to prevent wind and sand from damaging your skin, hair, ears, etc.

④ Wash your hands and face immediately after coming back from outside. Rinse your mouth with clean water, clean your nasal cavity, take a shower if conditions permit, and change clothes in time.

03 Reminder

As the seasons change, pathogens, dust, and pollen bombard us one after another. We need to remind everyone that we must first diagnose the problem and then treat it accordingly. Many people "diagnose" themselves and abuse drugs, which not only cannot play a substantial therapeutic role, but may even cause resistance to such drugs. Once they are really needed, the effect may be greatly reduced.
