Reasons for placental maturity grade 2 at 31 weeks

Reasons for placental maturity grade 2 at 31 weeks

In response to some of the doubts that expectant mothers have about embryos, Bangma has professionally compiled a collection of questions today to answer them one by one, so that expectant mothers can have a clearer understanding of themselves and their fetuses.

First of all, pregnant mothers need to understand what is placenta grading?

Generally speaking, the embryo in the middle and late stages of pregnancy (12-28 weeks) is at grade 0; the embryo maturity in the late stages of pregnancy (30-32 weeks) is at grade 1; and after 36 weeks it is at grade 2. Under normal circumstances, the closer the expectant mother is to full term, the more perfect the embryo will be, and the function of the placenta will gradually decrease with the perfection of the fetus.

Now that the placenta is mature, does it mean the fetus will be born?

In fact, the maturity of the embryo has no direct relationship with the development of the baby or when the baby will be born. The maturity of the placenta is only a judgment indicator of the embryo, not the main factor that determines the above two conditions.

What should pregnant mothers pay attention to when the placenta is mature to level 1 at 23 weeks of pregnancy?

If it is 23 weeks of pregnancy, it is generally not easy to grade the placenta. If it is level 1, there shouldn't be any big problems. Expectant mothers can go for another B-ultrasound in two days or a month to check the condition of the embryo. If placental aging of grade 2 or above is found, it may be caused by high blood pressure or anemia. At this time, pregnant mothers should see a doctor immediately for consultation and find appropriate solutions.

At 35 weeks, the placenta is mature to level 3 and the baby is still younger than the gestational age. What should I do?

At this time, expectant mothers do not need to worry too much, because embryo grade 3 may not necessarily have a major impact. Expectant mothers need to have regular follow-up visits and carefully observe the flow of amniotic fluid to see the function of the placenta. If the ultrasound shows that the fetus is younger than the gestational age, the expectant mother can choose high-protein foods in the diet and conduct color ultrasound examination after 2 weeks.

The ultrasound shows that the placenta is grade 3 mature at 33 weeks. What are the reasons?

The maturity of the embryo is one of the indicators for judging the fetal perfection, but there will also be certain human factors that may lead to errors in judgment. Generally speaking, embryo grade 3 means the embryo is complete and may continue for some time. However, if it does not affect the growth and development of the fetus, regular follow-up visits will be sufficient. If you are worried about decreased placental function, expectant mothers can have blood drawn regularly to check fetal prolactin and E3 for dynamic observation.

In fact, for most pregnant women near full term, the embryo maturity is at level 2 or 3, so there is no need to worry too much as long as the prenatal check-up is within the normal range. After the baby is full-term, the embryo will begin to perform its mission, grow old together, and finally "sacrifice gloriously" when the newborn is born.
