Breast lumps removal process diagram

There are many reasons for breast lumps. In order to avoid lesions, the best way is to use surgery to remove them. Some women are very concerned about the entire surgical process. So, what is the whole process of breast lump removal? Let’s take a look at it below.

1. Arc-shaped incisions can generally be used for nipple tumors and breast tumors, but the design should be within the range of the incision for breast cancer resection.

2. After cutting open the skin and subcutaneous tissue to expose the breast tissue, remove it in a wedge shape with the lump as the center and a small amount of surrounding breast tissue.

3. Between the breast tissue and subcutaneous tissue, the surrounding mineral acid flap is transplanted to an appropriate area to fully show the lump and surrounding breast tissue.

4. After clamping the lump with tissue forceps, lift the lump and use surgical forceps or scissors to cut the breast tissue in a spindle shape on both sides of the lump.

5. If the milk duct is disconnected at the base of the tumor, it should be sutured to prevent milk fistula.

6. Continue to cut shallowly, so that the wounds on both sides are biased towards the inside, and gradually connect them to each other, so that the tumor and surrounding breast tissue can be removed in a wedge shape at the same time.

7. After the wound is carefully blooded out, use thread to make interrupted sutures around the bottom. Do not suture the residual cavity, only suture the subcutaneous tissue and skin.

8. If the tumor is very large, bleeding is heavy, and the wound is large, a drainage method can be placed in front of the sutured skin.

Postoperative Care for Lumpectomy:

1. Pay attention to rest and maintain a happy, optimistic and cheerful mood. Generally, bed rest is the main approach, and outdoor activities and games can be carried out moderately. Such as doing exercises or taking a walk on the balcony or in the park, or doing some light housework (be careful not to sit on high tables and chairs).

2. Pay attention to nutrition. The diet should be based on high-protein food and low-calorie diet to promote the healing of abdominal wounds after surgery. You can eat sausage and old hen soup, fish head soup, and bone soup.

3. Pigeon soup, etc., eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

4. Go to the hospital for a follow-up visit two months after the operation.
