Canalys: Apple's share of the global high-end mobile phone market will be 63% in Q3 2024, and Huawei will be third

According to the latest data from Canalys, in the third quarter of 2024, the global smartphone market grew by 5% year-on-year, achieving a year-on-year rebound for four consecutive quarters. Global smartphone shipments are expected to reach 1.22 billion units in 2024, up 6% year-on-year. Among them, the demand for high-end mobile phones remains strong. From the perspective of the global market, in the third quarter of 2024, in the price range above US$600 (approximately RMB 4,356), Apple ranked first in the high-end market with a share of 63%, followed by Samsung (21%), Huawei (8%), Google (2%), and Honor (2%).

In the Chinese mainland market, Apple also ranked first with a 52% share, but it fell 5% year-on-year. Huawei ranked second with a market share of 33%, a year-on-year increase of 34%.

Honor ranked third with a 5% market share, up 30% year-on-year; Xiaomi ranked fourth with a 3% market share, up 88% year-on-year. Samsung ranked among the top five with a 3% market share.

It is not difficult to see from the above data that Apple and Huawei have formed a "monopoly" in the high-end mobile phone market above US$600 in mainland China, and other brands are far behind them.
