Still believe that "left eye twitching brings wealth" and "right eye twitching brings disaster"? Frequent eyelid twitching is not as simple as "getting rich"~

"Eyelid twitching" is a very common phenomenon, which occurs occasionally and can last from a few seconds to several minutes. Most people are limited to upper and lower eyelid twitching, which can be relieved after rest.

However, some people's eyelid twitching will be continuous and cannot be relieved by rest. In severe cases, it will be difficult for them to open their eyes. Some people even have facial twitching and crooked corners of the mouth.

When this happens, you must take it seriously and go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid more serious consequences.

What could be the cause of eyelid twitching?

1. Excessive fatigue: staying up late to sleep, resulting in insufficient sleep, or working too hard, over-consuming the body and causing excessive fatigue, etc. can cause eyelid twitching.

2. Tension: When the human body is nervous, such as before an exam, when the mental pressure is high and the brain does not get enough rest, it will cause eyelid twitching.

3. Disease: Eye diseases such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, keratitis, etc. can cause eyelid twitching. A few cases of eyelid twitching may also be caused by intracranial tumors, cysts or inflammatory adhesions compressing the facial nerves. In addition, some people's intracranial nerves are compressed by curved blood vessels when they are young, but they do not feel abnormal. When they reach middle age or old age, due to increased blood pressure and arteriosclerosis, the blood vessels will impact the nerves when they beat strongly, causing eyelid twitching.

4. Improper use of eyes: Looking at the computer for a long time will cause dry eyes, excessive eye use, and frequent eyelid twitching.

5. External stimulation: Strong light, drugs, foreign objects can also cause eyelid twitching. In addition, smoking and drinking can also irritate the eyes and cause eyelid twitching.

If your eyelid twitches increase or you close your eyes involuntarily for a long time, you need to be vigilant and go to a professional institution for targeted treatment in time to avoid causing greater damage to your eyes.
