Specifically, in the last three months of 2013, Apple's market share reached 41.8%, while Samsung's was only 26.1%. The top five also included Motorola, LG and HTC, with 6.7%, 6.6% and 5.7% respectively. In terms of platforms, Android has slightly declined, but still ranks first with a share of 51.5%; Apple's iOS is second. BlackBerry and Microsoft are third and fourth, with 3.4% and 3.1% respectively. Nokia's Symbian, which is still "standing on", has only 0.2% left. Overall, there were 156 million smartphone users in the U.S. in Q4 2013, up 3.2% from Q3 2013. This number accounts for about half of the U.S. population. |
