What is empathy in psychology?

Transference is a psychological term that comes from psychoanalysis. The client's transference refers to a strong emotion that the client has towards the analyst during the psychoanalysis process based on hypnosis and free association. The transference phenomenon is the process in which the client projects too much of his past emotions towards some important people in his life onto the analyst.

The counselor may also experience the same transference towards the client, which is called countertransference or countertransference.

The manifestations of confrontational transference are the same as those of transference, which can be positive (such as the counselor's excessive enthusiasm, love and care for the client) and negative (such as the counselor's hostility, boredom and hatred towards the client).

This essentially shows that the counselor has a kind of self-defense against the client, which objectively hinders the smooth development of psychological counseling.
