The latest average height and weight of men and women are released! Come and see if you are lagging behind

In December 2020, the State Council released the "Report on the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Status of Chinese Residents (2020)".

Five years on, the data shows we are taller and fatter.

The main conclusions are as follows:

The average height of men and women continued to increase, reaching 169.7 cm and 158 cm respectively;

The average weight continued to increase, reaching 69.6 kg for males and 59 kg for females;

The problem of malnutrition continues to improve, while the problem of overweight and obesity continues to become more prominent;

Increased rates of hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cancer;

The death rate from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases was 80.7%;

The smoking rate among people aged 15 and above and the drinking rate among adults within 30 days are more than one quarter;

· The smoking rate and secondhand smoke exposure rate of residents have both declined;

Unhealthy lifestyles among residents are still prevalent.

Note: The nutritional and chronic disease status of residents is an important indicator reflecting the country's economic and social development, health care level and population health quality. From 2015 to 2019, the National Health Commission organized the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Cancer Center, and the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases to carry out a new round of chronic disease and nutrition monitoring of Chinese residents, covering nearly 600 million people in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country, with more than 600,000 on-site surveys, which is representative of the country and the province. According to the monitoring results, the "Report on the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Status of Chinese Residents (2020)" was compiled.
