How to treat chocolate cysts

How to treat chocolate cysts

Chocolate cyst is a variant of endometriosis in women, and the uterus and ovaries are the common sites of chocolate cysts. With the recurrence of chocolate cysts, women will experience menstrual disorders, dysmenorrhea, persistent lower abdominal pain, and pain during sexual intercourse. The clinical drug treatment of chocolate cysts has a weak effect and cannot completely eliminate chocolate cysts immediately. Therefore, surgical treatment is generally recommended for cysts larger than 3 cm. So how should the body be maintained for surgical treatment of uterine and ovarian chocolate cysts?

1. Adjust your diet structure. Patients with ovarian chocolate cysts should try to choose foods that are beneficial to their condition. They can eat more light and easy-to-digest foods in daily life. Because a lot of calories will be consumed after surgery, the total calorie intake can be increased appropriately, but the intake of cholesterol and sweets should be controlled. Patients with chocolate cysts should also avoid eating foods with high hormone content, as this type of food is not conducive to the patient's recovery from surgery.

2. Arrange your time reasonably. Patients with ovarian chocolate cysts do not need to do heavy physical work on a regular basis, especially during menstruation, they should avoid excessive exercise, because excessive exercise may cause the chocolate cyst to rupture. Excessive exercise after surgery may also cause wound bleeding. Therefore, women should mainly rest in bed for the first two weeks after surgery. Until the patient's body has fully recovered, the intensity of daily exercise can be gradually increased.

3. Adjust your mindset. Patients with ovarian chocolate cysts should try to reduce the occurrence of negative emotions. Patients in an emotional state of anxiety, depression, and restlessness can aggravate the condition, and a positive mental state is not only conducive to the treatment of the condition but also can control the growth of ovarian chocolate cysts. Therefore, it is necessary to regulate emotions effectively during the treatment period.

In addition, patients with uterine chocolate cysts who have undergone surgery should also pay attention to menstrual hygiene, and try to reduce gynecological examinations and sexual intercourse during menstruation. Some women will not have any clinical symptoms even if they develop uterine chocolate cysts, but chocolate cysts are also a common disease in women. Therefore, it is best for women to have a comprehensive gynecological examination every six months. For patients who have been diagnosed with uterine chocolate cysts, if the cysts are very small and no longer require treatment, the examination time can be reduced to facilitate the observation of the growth of the uterine chocolate cysts.
