Symptoms of cervical prolapse

Symptoms of cervical prolapse

Cervical relaxation is a common condition among women. If not properly handled, it can cause all kinds of harm to women's reproductive health. Therefore, for the condition of cervical relaxation, women should pay attention to understanding its symptoms so that they can adjust it in time to avoid causing greater consequences. So what are the symptoms of cervical relaxation? What harm can it cause? Let us learn about it below.

What are the symptoms of cervical relaxation?

Women with cervical relaxation may find that small pieces of objects are protruding from the vagina, and they may also feel physical discomfort, such as back pain, and their menstrual period may be affected. They may experience symptoms such as menorrhagia, prolonged menstruation, and excessive vaginal discharge. If these symptoms cannot be improved for a long time, they will cause great harm to women's reproductive health, especially those with severe cervical relaxation, which will affect the patient's normal life.

The actual symptoms will vary depending on the degree of cervical relaxation. Generally, the cervix of patients with grade I relaxation is only below the level of the ischial spine and is unlikely to exceed the vulva. Grade II relaxation will cause part of the cervix and part of the uterus to slip out of the vulva. Grade III is the most serious, which means that the cervix and uterus are completely slipped out of the vulva. At this time, the patient may feel a sense of falling in the private parts when standing up or working, and have a significant back pain when walking and feeling tired. The more severe the symptom, the more serious the loosening is, especially during the menstrual period when the pelvic congestion occurs. It will also be accompanied by symptoms such as menorrhagia. In mild cases, the slippage may shrink spontaneously, but in severe cases, it may stay in and out of the vagina all day long and cannot be restored spontaneously without immediate surgical treatment.

The damage of cervical relaxation is quite large. Severe cases can cause hematoma, edema, hypertrophy, and even make it unable to return to its normal position, resulting in long-term exposure outside the vulva, which can cause local keratinization of the skin and mucosa, and can also cause erosion and ulcer infection due to friction, resulting in extravasation of purulent secretions, which has a great impact on walking and movement. If accompanied by bulging of the anterior vaginal wall or bulging of the posterior vaginal wall, it can also cause urine retention, dysuria, urethral infection and other adverse effects, and even supportive urinary incontinence. Severe relaxation can cause the urethra to move and bend, which can lead to water retention in the urethra and renal pelvis. If duodenal protrusion occurs, defecation will be difficult.

The above are some symptoms and harms of cervical relaxation. It can be seen that once cervical relaxation occurs, it must be treated immediately. Generally, surgical treatment is the main treatment. However, if the cervical relaxation is not very serious, conservative treatment can also be used, such as using a pessary to improve the symptoms. In addition, patients should pay attention to nutritional adjustments and avoid factors that may aggravate relaxation, such as standing for a long time, squatting for a long time, etc.
