The whole process of postpartum pelvic floor screening

Caesarean section delivery is more harmful to the female body than natural delivery, so the items of postpartum check-up will be more targeted. The recovery of the pelvic floor muscles is also an important part of every woman’s postpartum checkup. So how should women who have cesarean sections choose their pelvic floor muscles?

1. After the confinement period, women who have undergone caesarean section should go to the hospital outpatient department for a more comprehensive postpartum examination. Among these, one very important examination item is the postpartum pelvic repair function examination. Although the fetus does not pass through the birth canal during a cesarean section, which causes less harm to the postpartum pelvic repair, the uterus will also be compressed on the postpartum pelvic repair as the fetus grows during pregnancy, causing varying degrees of muscle damage. Therefore, it is also important to perform a postpartum pelvic repair examination after a cesarean section.

2. When women who have undergone cesarean section undergo this examination during the prescribed time period after delivery, the methods of postpartum pelvic repair detection will be different due to different experimental instruments purchased by hospitals. Some hospitals will use a special stability test rod, which is inserted into the vagina of postpartum women to test the contraction muscle strength of the pelvic repair after delivery, and verify the resulting values to determine whether the postpartum recovery of the pelvic repair after delivery is good.

3. Some hospitals also purchase more advanced test instruments, which may be special postpartum pelvic repair function selection instruments, but their basic principles are exactly the same as the simple pressure tester detection method. In addition, the postpartum pelvic recovery examination also needs to be based on the doctor's preoperative diagnosis, do some jumping tests, etc., and comprehensively determine the recovery of the female pelvic floor muscles after childbirth through a variety of examinations.

There are two ways to perform a pelvic examination. One is for the doctor to perform a digital examination of the pelvis. Doctors need to use force to touch the pregnant woman's vagina, and using force to feel the energy of postpartum pelvic recovery is also harmful. Another method is pelvic electrophysiological examination, which is also a common method for examining postpartum pelvic repair. An electrode rod is placed in the pregnant woman's vagina, and then the myoelectronic signals of the pelvic floor muscle tension are collected. The doctor will use these myoelectronic signals to identify the state and degree of postpartum pelvic repair damage in the pregnant woman.

Generally speaking, pregnant women need to go to the hospital for a postpartum pelvic repair examination within 42 days after giving birth. Because during the whole process of childbirth, the pregnant woman's pelvis will open, and the postpartum pelvic repair capacity will be too great, which will cause the muscle tissue to become increasingly loose. If the postpartum recovery is not good, there will be multifunctional obstruction, and in severe cases it will continue to cause urinary incontinence, pelvic internal organs falling down, etc.

For pregnant women, it is very important to do a postpartum pelvic recovery examination. Only through this examination can the postpartum pelvic recovery status be understood. If there is a problem, it can be discovered as early as possible, and treatment and rest can be given immediately to prevent complications.
