What should people with frequent milk blockage do?

For a period of time after a newborn baby is born, if the mother's conditions permit, breastfeeding is generally chosen for the baby, because the nutritional value of breast milk is relatively high. Moreover, babies who are exclusively breastfed will have better physique and relatively good resistance. However, mothers who exclusively breastfeed sometimes encounter milk blockage. Now I will talk to you about what to do if milk blockage recurs.

1. “The remaining poison has not been cleared”

Some mothers let their babies suck after the first milk blockage, and they think they are fine after the lump is removed. In fact, it is okay in most cases, but some breasts are blocked at the root, which makes it difficult for babies to suck through and difficult for mothers to detect, especially for mothers with slightly larger breasts, who are more likely to have milk congestion at the root.

Therefore, when the previous milk blockage has not been completely resolved, with the secretion of milk, and the baby cannot understand it well, milk blockage will occur frequently. This is what I often say "there are still opponents that have not been cleared."

Solution:

The most important thing in this situation is to completely drain the milk accumulated at the root of the breast.

Before breastfeeding, mothers can hold the affected breast with one hand and use the other hand to adjust from the base of the breast to the nipple, and then let the baby suck, first feeding the affected side and then the other side;

You can also find a reliable lactation consultant to help you drain the milk. After the deposited milk is drained out, it will be less likely to have milk blockages frequently.

2. The underwear is too tight or is compressed by external force

Many mothers had their breasts blocked, but they became blocked again within two days. After asking in detail, they found out that it was because their underwear was too tight, pressing on their breasts, or because they were pressed down by sleeping or the baby bumped into their breasts, causing the milk blockage.

We can see from the size of the milk spraying out of our nipples that our mammary ducts are relatively thin, and once they are compressed, they are easily blocked.

Solution:

Change into loose nursing bras and sleep on your back as much as possible to prevent the baby from kicking or bumping.

3. Dietary reasons

Now that living standards have improved, the diet of breastfeeding mothers is also very good. Mothers-in-law are very concerned and eat fish all day long. The nutritional value has increased, but milk blockage is very common.

This is because there is too much fat in the breast milk, and the fat molecules are relatively large, and they are easy to accumulate in the nipple, causing white spots and repeated blockages.

Solution:

Adjust your diet, remove the floating oil when drinking porridge, and eat some vegetables and fruits such as cucumber, lettuce, and lotus root. If the blocked nipple cannot produce milk, the nipple needs to be unblocked and inflammation eliminated.

4. Feeling depressed, depressed or anxious

Breastfeeding mothers are in a bad mood, find faults, are sad and complain about everything every day, etc., which will cause their liver qi to stagnate, which will lead to obstruction of the liver meridian. Poor qi flow will cause milk blockage. Or they may be anxious about the child and eat less breast milk, or all the attention of the family is directed to the child after giving birth, and they don't pay enough attention to themselves, or they may be distracted by trivial matters at home, which will cause excessive heart fire and often cause milk blockage.

Solution:

For milk blockage caused by liver qi stagnation, it is recommended that mothers vent their emotions or clear the liver and gallbladder meridians to relieve stress.
