What does the cystic structure in the left ovary mean?

Most of the discomfort in women is concentrated in the abdomen, and sometimes they feel pain on one or both sides of the lower abdomen. This kind of situation usually occurs during the ovulation period and will be fine after a few days. If a woman chooses to go to the hospital for examination, an abdominal ultrasound examination is generally recommended, and the examination sheet may show that there are cystic structural changes in the left ovary. Because they don't understand what cystic structure is, women often worry that they are sick.

Generally, cystic tissue refers to the presence of small cysts at the site of examination. Cysts can be divided into physiological cysts and physiological cysts. The most common physiological cyst is the ovarian cyst. If the diameter of the cyst is relatively small and the woman happens to be in the ovulation period, it is generally a physiological cyst. After the ovulation period, the cyst will disappear on its own.

If the diameter of the cyst is relatively large, and the woman also has symptoms such as abnormal vaginal bleeding, severe lower abdominal pain, and increased vaginal discharge, conservative treatment with medication may be required first. If medication is ineffective, surgery may be required to remove the cyst.

Although ovarian cysts are common in daily life, there are many factors that cause their occurrence, so it is impossible to avoid them through clinical methods. However, developing a good lifestyle, exercising regularly and having regular gynecological examinations can all help significantly reduce the likelihood of developing ovarian cysts.

The presence of cystic structure in the left ovary may indicate the presence of eggs, but it may also be caused by ovarian cysts. Generally, there may be physiological cysts, so at this stage, most of the time, regular checks can be done, and an ultrasound follow-up can be done after the menstrual period to help confirm the diagnosis. Physiological cysts can be cured, so there is no need to worry, but if the cyst continues to expand to more than 5.0 cm, most of the time, surgical treatment is required.
