Female urinates frequently when she goes to sleep at night

Frequent urination and urgent urination are not unfamiliar to us. Some patients will mention during consultation that they will urinate frequently and urgently at night. Why do women urinate frequently and urgently at night? Getting up frequently to urinate at night will cause you to sleep poorly, and if you are not careful, you will catch a cold. There are many reasons for women's frequent urination at night.

1. Normal physiological phenomenon: If you drink a lot of water, eat fruits, drink alcohol and other foods with high water content before going to bed, due to the adjustment of kidney function and filtering function, urination will increase, and the frequency of urination will also increase, so you will have frequent urination and urgency, but there will be no discomfort when urinating.

2. Physiological diseases: For example, patients with diabetes or diabetes insipidus have frequent urination and urgency due to their own diseases, but they do not feel any discomfort every time they urinate.

3. Non-inflammatory irritation: If the urethra is irritated by foreign bodies such as stones and sparganosis, the main symptoms are frequent urination and urgency.

4. Inflammation and irritation: When inflammation occurs in the bladder, the urinary sensory nerve center will immediately be in an excited state, causing frequent urination and urgency, and each urination is less. Especially acute cystitis and tuberculous cystitis are more obvious, so frequent urination and urgency are a key symptom of cystitis. In addition, urethritis, vulvitis, etc. often have symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, and painful urination, which is called urethral irritation, also known as "triuria".

5. Psychoneural urinary frequency: It mainly occurs before falling asleep, usually occurs in a state of tension or anxiety or is common in hysterical patients. It is often accompanied by symptoms of inability to hold urine and painful urination.

6. Reduced bladder capacity: This is often manifested by bladder space-occupying masses (such as tumors), compression by the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder muscle atrophy, or large bladder stones.

Why do women urinate frequently and urgently at night? I wonder if everyone has the same reasons as described above. If the symptoms do not subside for a long time, it is best for the patient to see a doctor for a comprehensive examination. For mild symptoms, everyone can just examine themselves. Some symptoms will disappear after a few days, so there is no need to worry if they do not recur.
