Best time for pelvic recovery after childbirth

Best time for pelvic recovery after childbirth

From the moment a woman becomes pregnant, her body will undergo great changes, especially after giving birth, the pelvis will undergo the biggest changes. The pelvic bone joints will become larger after delivery. Although the body will shrink a little during the confinement period, exercise is needed for better recovery. There is an optimal time for postpartum pelvic recovery. Once the best time is missed, it is generally not easy to repair the damaged pelvis.

Best time for pelvic recovery after childbirth

The best time for postpartum pelvic repair is generally within 42 days to 6 months after delivery. A small number of cases that cannot recover require doctor's intervention first. Due to the pressure on the pelvic floor from the fetus during pregnancy and delivery, some women usually experience a certain degree of pelvic floor dysfunction after giving birth.

If the pelvis is not repaired in time after childbirth, urinary incontinence is likely to occur when the intra-abdominal pressure is high, such as when sneezing or lifting heavy objects. Sometimes it may also be caused by postpartum vaginal relaxation, unsatisfactory sexual life, etc. Because everyone's physical condition and postpartum conditions are different, postpartum pelvic repair is generally performed after the body has recovered to a certain extent, that is, within 42 days to 6 months after delivery.

What are the adverse effects of poor pelvic recovery?

Leaking urine

If the pelvis is not repaired after childbirth, the lower opening of the pelvis will become wider, which will make the buttocks flat; the hip joints will tilt inward and the buttocks will become wider; the pelvis will become loose and the waist will be severely bent; the legs below the knees will be twisted and become O-shaped legs; the deformed pelvis will make the abdominal muscles loose and the bones become porous. It will inevitably cause vaginal relaxation, sagging, uterine prolapse, and relaxation of the bladder sphincter. This is why many mothers are prone to urinary incontinence and difficulty holding urine after giving birth.

Disharmony in married life

It may even affect the sexual life of the couple. The pelvis is tightened by three centimeters and the vagina is tightened by one centimeter. Therefore, pelvic repair can also help improve the sensitivity of sexual life and is beneficial to family happiness. It not only improves physical health, but also brings harmony to the sexual life of our family and couples.

What is the most appropriate way

(1) Push your feet and pull your buttocks in: Lie on your back and push your heels down with force while lifting your breath and pulling your buttocks in. Relax after 2 seconds, then push your feet, lift your breath and pull your buttocks in again, and relax. Repeat 20 times. It can shrink the buttocks and promote pelvic recovery.

(2) Pelvic exercises: Half squat, bend your knees slightly, place your feet about 60 cm apart, and put your hands on your hips. Inhale and push your pelvis forward; exhale, pull your pelvis back while sticking your buttocks out as far as possible. Repeat 10 times.
