Pregnant woman has black nodules on her belly button

During pregnancy, pregnant women must be very concerned about their health and will be worried about any abnormalities in their body. In daily life, some pregnant women have black lumps on their belly buttons. Although there are no obvious symptoms, they are worried that it will have an impact on the body. So, what does the black lump on the belly button of a pregnant woman mean? Let’s take a look below.

If there are gray-black lumps in the belly button of a pregnant woman, it may be a stain caused by the accumulation of secretions. When the pregnant woman is not pregnant, due to obesity, she has more abdominal fat and a deeper belly button, which may cause the belly button to not be cleaned in time, resulting in the accumulation of stains. After pregnancy, the body's metabolism increases, and the belly button is connected to the abdominal organs. The abdominal cavity bulges due to the growth of the uterus, and the abdominal pressure increases, and unclean things will also be secreted out from the belly button. It is best not to pick your belly button with your hands, as this may cause local skin damage or even local infection, which will harm the condition of the abdominal cavity.

How to bathe pregnant women

First of all, pregnant women should pay special attention to the water temperature when taking a bath. It should not be too high. Modern medical research has found that excessively high temperature can cause a certain degree of damage to the fetus's central nervous system. The temperature should be adjusted to below 39 degrees, and you should avoid going to the bathhouse to take a warm water pool or bath in a tub as much as possible to prevent the abdomen from being soaked in water.

Secondly, pregnant women should also pay attention to the way they bathe. It is recommended to stand in the shower and avoid sitting in the basin to take a bath. If a pregnant woman takes a sitz bath, the bacteria and viruses in the dirty water may enter the vagina and uterus, causing vaginitis, salpingitis, or urinary tract infection, making the pregnant woman feel chills, high fever, abdominal pain, etc., and increasing the chance of taking medicine, which is more likely to cause malformations and premature births.

In addition, pregnant women should not take a bath for too long. A hot water bath should last no more than 20 minutes. Staying in a sealed space such as a bathroom for a long time can easily lead to insufficient oxygen supply due to reduced air and increased humidity. This will not only cause dizziness and other symptoms in pregnant women, but is also very detrimental to the health of the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women should strictly control the time when bathing.

Precautions for pregnant women to take a bath

1. Take a bath frequently to keep your skin clean

After a woman becomes pregnant, many special physiological changes occur in her body, such as active secretion of sweat glands and sebaceous glands, which causes easy sweating and increased secretion of sweat and oil on the head. If she does not wash her hair or take a bath regularly, the dirt on the skin and head can affect the excretion function of the pores, which can easily lead to infection and itching or other skin diseases. Pregnant women need to take a bath more than ordinary people to keep their skin clean and prevent skin infections and urinary tract infections.

2. Take a shower

Women in pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, the placenta villus produce a lot of estrogen and progesterone, and the amount of progesterone is greater than estrogen. Therefore, at this stage, the shedding of vaginal epithelial cells is greater than the proliferation, which will reduce the amount of lactic acid in the vagina, thereby reducing its killing power against foreign pathogens. If you take a sitz bath, the dirty water after the bath may enter the vagina, and the vagina's disease resistance will be weakened, which can easily cause cervicitis, adnexitis, or even intrauterine or vulvar infection, leading to premature birth. Therefore, pregnant women should not take a sitz bath, let alone go to a public bath to take a bath. Showering is more appropriate.

3. Pay attention to the frequency and time

Although pregnant women need to take a bath frequently, it does not mean that the more times they take a bath, the better. Generally speaking, once a day is most appropriate. In addition to the frequency, the time of bathing should also be strictly controlled. Taking a hot bath in a sealed bathroom for a long time can easily cause dizziness in pregnant women and can also have an adverse effect on the health of the fetus. It is best for pregnant women to bathe for 15 to 20 minutes.

4. Strictly control water temperature

Modern medical research has found that excessively high temperatures can cause a certain degree of damage to the fetus's central nervous system. It is possible that the fetal brain cells may stop developing, causing mostly irreversible permanent damage, resulting in intellectual disabilities in the fetus. In severe cases, the fetus may suffer from microphthalmia, cleft lip, external ear deformities, etc., and may also cause epileptic seizures. Moreover, the higher the water temperature and the longer the duration, the greater the damage. Doctors say the water temperature should be kept below 39°C as much as possible, and 27°C to 37°C is appropriate.
