Symptoms of external hemorrhoids in women

There are three main types of external hemorrhoids in women: varicose hemorrhoids, thrombosed hemorrhoids, and connective tissue hemorrhoids, and the symptoms are not exactly the same. Before the onset of varicose external hemorrhoids, most patients will experience symptoms such as prolonged bowel movement and difficulty in defecation. They will feel pain and discomfort at the anus during defecation. When the disease occurs, there will be a lump at the edge of the anus, covered by skin tissue in purple-red color. There is no pain or bleeding in the early stage, or occasional bleeding. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids often occur after defecation, and the patient will find a raised lump at the anus accompanied by pain.

Connective tissue external hemorrhoids are mainly caused by hyperplasia of the skin folds at the anal margin, and are mainly manifested by the enlargement of the skin flap at the edge of the anus. There is no obvious discomfort, but the anus is difficult to clean after defecation, and fecal sediment and secretions are prone to accumulation. In addition, compared with the other two types of external hemorrhoids, connective tissue external hemorrhoids feel harder.

The main symptoms of external hemorrhoids may always be wrinkles and lumps of skin around the anus, which may resemble the appearance of unnecessary skin. Some symptoms are only manifested by the wrinkled skin becoming rounded and resembling small pieces of meat during defecation. In the early stages of external hemorrhoids, it is generally not easy to experience symptoms such as pain and discomfort due to the dilation and rupture of capillaries in the hemorrhoids, which causes thrombosis in the subcutaneous tissue. The main reason for this phenomenon is that women have poor bowel habits for a long time, or after giving birth, the pelvic skin becomes loose and the hemorrhoidal cushion tissue at the anus sinks.

External hemorrhoids in women are mainly caused by frequent constipation or diarrhea, which damages the anal and duodenal mucosa below the dentate line, thus causing external hemorrhoids. In addition, pregnancy and childbirth are also key factors that cause external hemorrhoids. Pregnancy and childbirth will cause abdominal pressure to continue to expand, causing the anal cushions to sink and cause external hemorrhoids. And the common external hemorrhoids in women are mainly cutaneous external hemorrhoids and varicose external hemorrhoids. At first, women with external hemorrhoids do not feel obvious discomfort, but in the later stages, they will cause a foreign body sensation in the anus and wetness and itching around the anus.
