Do you feel any pain when the fetus stops growing at 5 months of pregnancy?

Many people believe that the first three months of pregnancy are the most dangerous, because there are many accidents in the first three months, and miscarriage may occur if you are not careful. In fact, every stage of pregnancy should be taken seriously. The chance of fetal arrest in the middle and late stages of pregnancy is also very high. Do you feel anything when the fetus stops in 5 months of pregnancy? Here I will tell you what the symptoms of fetal arrest are. Pregnant friends can come and learn about it.

1. What are the symptoms of fetal arrest at 5 months of pregnancy?

1. Fetal movement decreases

Fetal movement is one of the most objective signs of fetal life and is a signal sent by the fetus to the mother. Therefore, pregnant women should keep track of fetal movements to understand the safety of the fetus and detect problems in time. Normally, between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus begins to have noticeable fetal movements that can be felt by the mother. As the gestational age increases, fetal movements also increase.

After 30 weeks of pregnancy, a normal fetus will move at least 3 times per hour, and the number of fetal movements within 12 hours will be about 30-40 times or more. However, it is normal for a fetus to have reduced fetal movement as it approaches full term, which may be related to the fetus's sleep condition. Fetal movement can be affected by many factors. The month of pregnancy, the amount of amniotic fluid, the posture of the pregnant woman, etc. can all cause fetal movement to change, but these changes are within the normal range.

Pregnant women can measure the fetal movement once in the morning, noon and evening, and calculate the fetal movement by measuring it once every hour. If you cannot measure three times a day, you can choose to measure for one hour at a fixed time before going to bed at night. Abnormal fetal movement may occur when the placenta function is impaired, the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck, the pregnant woman uses medication improperly, or there is adverse external stimulation. If the fetal movement is less than 3 times within 1 hour, or less than 10 times within 12 hours, it means that the fetus is at risk of intrauterine hypoxia and you should go to the hospital for examination and timely treatment.

2. Unexplained abdominal pain

During pregnancy, pregnant women may feel mild abdominal pain at certain stages, which is generally normal. But if the abdominal pain is sudden and crampy, it needs to be taken seriously. In early pregnancy, severe lower abdominal pain accompanied by vaginal bleeding may be a warning sign of ectopic pregnancy or threatened miscarriage.

3. Amniotic fluid volume

Amniotic fluid is one of the elements that maintain fetal survival. Too much or too little amniotic fluid may be a warning sign of fetal disease. Pregnant women need to be alert if abnormal amniotic fluid volume is found during examination. The functions of amniotic fluid include not only expanding the uterine wall and providing the free space needed for the fetus' growth and development, but also cushioning the uterus when it is impacted by external forces, maintaining a stable temperature, and assisting in dilating the cervix by transmitting pressure through the water bag during labor pains. Therefore, amniotic fluid is regarded as the "water of life" for the fetus. Amniotic fluid is mainly formed by the placental tissue osmotic fluid in the pregnant woman's uterus and the fetal urine.
