Is cervical cancer hereditary?

Cervical cancer has a certain genetic tendency. The inheritance rate of this disease is not very high, but its occurrence is mainly caused by unclean sexual life and damage to the uterus. Therefore, patients with cervical cancer should be treated in time, and they should not have sexual life during the treatment stage of cervical cancer. You can learn about the causes and genetic predisposition of uterine cancer in this article.

Is cervical cancer hereditary?

1. There is some genetic tendency for cervical cancer, but it is not serious. However, once a relative becomes diagnosed with cervical cancer, other female members become a high-risk group, which is medically known as relative-friend disease. This category of high-risk groups includes not only mothers and daughters, sisters, etc., but also people whose living environment is very similar to theirs.

2. Although cervical cancer cells are not hereditary, once in the same living environment, they may be transmitted through some media, which increases the chance of infection to other people. In addition, many women are not physically strong enough and have low disease resistance, so they have a higher chance of developing cervical cancer than the average person.

3. If there is a patient among your immediate family members, then the chance of developing cervical cancer is eight times higher than that of the average person.

If there is a patient with cervical cancer among the immediate family members, then female friends should be vigilant and need to take some preventive measures to prevent themselves from developing cervical cancer.

What causes cervical cancer?

1. HPV infection: There are more than 120 types of HPV known in medicine, and more than 30 of them can cause infections of the reproductive system. There are more than ten types that are directly related to cervical carcinoma in situ and cervical cancer. According to medical research results, the rate of HPV infection in cervical cancer is almost 100%.

2. Promiscuous sex and sexually transmitted diseases: People who have sexually transmitted diseases and promiscuous sex are very likely to develop cervical cancer, and the risk can be up to ten times that of normal people. Even if a man has promiscuous sex, his spouse's risk of cervical cancer will increase.

3. Number of births and semen: If a woman gives birth too many times, the risk of cervical cancer will increase. This is because childbirth will cause certain damage to the cervix. The more times, the greater the damage. Women who are still in puberty are easily stimulated by semen, which may cause mutations in the cells of the cervix.

The above are the more common causes of cervical cancer. Of course, there are also some genetic causes for the occurrence of cervical cancer. If women smoke, they will also increase their chances of developing cancer.

Treatment for early-stage cervical cancer.

1. If cervical cancer can be detected in the early stages, surgery is the most common treatment. Directly removing cancerous tissue through surgery is currently the best and most thorough treatment method.

2. Radiotherapy: Radiotherapy has a good therapeutic effect on early cervical cancer, especially for patients who are sensitive to radiotherapy, the therapeutic effect is very satisfactory. Radiation therapy can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for surgery. After surgery, a period of radiation therapy can effectively kill remaining cancer cells in the human body and is very effective in preventing the recurrence of cancer.

3. Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy is usually used for patients with cervical cancer who cannot undergo surgery or those in the middle or late stages. It can effectively inhibit and eliminate cancer cells. Its disadvantage is that it can have relatively large side effects.

The above three are the most commonly used treatments for cervical cancer. Doctors usually choose the treatment method based on the condition of cervical cancer, and sometimes choose traditional Chinese medicine for auxiliary treatment.
